The past few days my wrist is a mess. It's terribly swollen and think it's from being on the internet so much typing and using the mouse. Have you ever had a problem with a wrist or hand as a result of piddling around on the computer for long periods of time? Might need a shot of cortizone or a shot of whiskey! Not sure which would work best.

I'd opt for the shot of whiskey!!!
It's my left ankle that swells when I've been on the internet too much!!! Yes, I said my ankle. For whatever reason, when I'm sitting, I put most of my weight on my left hip & I'm only assuming here...that cuts off the circulation to my foot. I try to remember to get up every little bit & walk around for a few minutes in topes it will get the blood to flowing once again!!!

You use the mouse with your feet? lol Maybe it's from crossing your legs when on the computer. I did buy one of those wrist braces and it was a whole $5.00. Actually a wrist support. So far it's not helping. Like your idea of only sleeping with it on. Thanks for responding.

Are you sure it's not from doing your crafts too? You do alot of hand movements with that I would imagine. And then the computer adds to it.
My hand gets extremely cold, doesn't swell. It's like the circulation gets cut off or something and it drives me crazy. If I'm sitting in a certain position, it also starts to hurt. Might be carpel tunnel I would imagine but I'm not sure. I know I have arthritis too so I'm just a mess, lol!
Take the shot of whiskey, sounds good to me!

This problem has to be age related. I am falling apart at the seams. Yes, doing crafts doesn't help the situation. I can only watch tv so long before I need to do something else at the same time. Can lay down but then it's all over because I fall asleep. I do have a mousepad with a wrist rest but it isn't helping right now. Yeah a shot of whiskey would make me forget I had a wrist. Thanks for responding.

Yes, I find that growing old gracefully just does NOT exist, lol! The body won't keep up with the mind and that stinks.
It's been raining here for days and I did notice with the cooler weather and the rain, that my neck is really hurting me as I have a bad disc. I think it's just a little bit of this, and a little bit of that, and it ends up becoming one big disaster as in your wrist. Does this happen often to you? Or just once in a while? I noticed in the summer when it was nicer out, my neck didn't hurt as much.

My lower back will star to ache if I sit inthe computer chair to long. Also being hunched over I tend to get a lot of pain in my shoulder blades, sometimes I end up with the nerve getting pinched. Have to refrain from the computer when that happens. Thankfully not to often though.
I find that short intervals at the computer and then get up and do housework or something and then to go back to the computer. Like everything moderation I think is the key. Sometimes though we just loose track of the time.

I know exactly how you feel I get on POGO and feel like days have passed before I come up for air. It's just one more game, no one more and before I know it's hours I've lost.

I have had this happen to me at times that I spend too much time at then keyboard. My wrist does not swell as I will stop and get some other movement to my wrist for a while.
I make my income at the computer but I get away from it frequently so that I don't get the swelling. I stop when it starts hurting.

I use the flat one on my desktop and none at all on my laptop.

I had same problem as you, several years ago, and it came up that i hurt some nerve and my doctor suggested that I should rest my hand. Back than I used to work as a graphic designer, so lack of ability to do computer work was not good for me. However, I did rest and it turned ok in around 2 weeks, but from time to time I feel something strange with my hand, usually when weather changes.

I can't tell if anyone has suggested this or not, because I'm answering directly from my e-mail (it's sad how far behind I am). But is it possible you have carpal tunnel syndrome? Both my sister and mother had it, and my sister had to have surgery on one wrist.
