There are a lot of movies which are originally written in a book before they made it into a film. There are these all time favorites like Harry Potter, Lord of the Ring, and a lot more. Some would enjoy it by reading and some, like me, enjoy it by watching. I like it better to watch than to read because I can relax with my love ones. It's a precious bonding time for us to be watching and eating and chatting at the same time:) How about you, which do you prefer watching it in a film or reading it in a book?

even me, i rather watch movie than reading, because reading is so boring. look when we look at the advantages of reading and wathcing movie, watching movie is more cooler than reading.because, accepting the facts that not all the people love to read books. maybe because they cannot understand it rightly, while the movie, though it has different language but there actions can keep you to understand it. = right?

For me, it would depend on how you would spend you precious time.
If you want to spend it alone, then you could read. Solitude can sometimes be refreshing and relaxing.
If you want to spend it with someone or with your family for some bonding time, then you watch.
But if you would compare, original books to its film version, the treatment would be quite different. In a film, the plot and details would be compressed to around 1 hour and 30 minutes. While in the book, the reader can take his time to experience the words written by the author.

It depends on the book/movie, but generally I prefer reading the book. I loved the LOTR series, and have read them numerous times. I was also thrilled to see the stories come to life in such a beautiful trilogy of movies, but was still disappointed by the changes made to the stories. The same is true for the Harry Potter books/movies. I liked both, but was unhappy with some of the changes in the movies. On the other hand, I actually thought the Godfather movies were better than the books, and so was Gone With the Wind. Maybe that's because in those cases, I had seen the movies BEFORE reading the books.
I do enjoy sitting with my family and watching movies with them, but I like reading stories with them even more. I find that to be just as relaxing and rewarding, and love the looks on their faces when my kids "get" the stories I am reading to them. And reading together is more interactive, since we talk and discuss things while I am reading to them. When they are watching a movie or TV show, they do NOT want to be bothered! So, all in all, I would have to say that I prefer reading to watching a movie, although both have good points.

I prefer to read the book, then, I whatch the movie, beacuse when I'm reading,
I can create the scenes, the cast's physical forms and the scenes in my own mind!
However, If I watch the movie before reading, I prefer the movie,as Twilight,
first, I watched the movies and I prefer the movies than the books! But I think
reading is better than whatching!

For me, it just depends on what I have time for. I generally have time to sit down and watch a movie from time to time. However, when it comes to books...it depends on the book. Work and taking care of my kids take up a lot of my time, so I don't always have time to sit down and read books to often. However, I have found a way around this. When there's a book that I'm interesting in, I see if it's available in an audio book version. I spend a lot of time in my car for my job, so I just listen to them while at work. If I can't find an audio version, the book needs to be very interesting or very short lol

i prefer watching a movie.. it'll be better but if it's my favorite authors, i prefer reading first (if n case theres a movie version) i like to get the entire detail. it's more detailed in a book version usually.

I would prefer to read it first but if I end up watching the movie before the book, I don't want to go back and read it. I love watching movies and reading books... but both will irritate me if they make me feel they are 'bad' to have waste my time.

I love to watch movies more than reading so given a choice between the two I would definitely opt for the movie version of a particular book.It gives me a chance to got to the movie hall or spend time with friend at home. But of course there are books like Harry Potter which simply cannot give anyone a complete experience unless it is read.

I too love to watch movies instead of reading those thick books. Anyway, i do hear from lots of friends who has read the book/novel before watching the films who complain that the plots in the movie is not exactly the same as what was in the book. I think a lot of that might due to the limit it has on a movie. You can write a book for a couple thousands of pages but most movies only lasted or 3 hours at most.

I would certainly prefer to watch movies rather than reading the book. Reading the book requires time and patience. However, a movie will be finished in a few hours and you will enjoy it. If you read the book, you will have to imagine everything, however, while you watch the movie, everything will happen in front of your eyes and you will enjoy the sound and graphics effects in the movies.

I don't really read a lot and I can't handle to read for a long time so I prefer watching movies because I enjoy it and my imagination is not that really wide just like other readers.I think reading is also nice but I will enjoy more the story if I see it in the movie.

I love both! I think it's probably a good idea though to read the book before a movie comes out that is based on that book! When the time arrives to actually seeing the movie then this will contribute in terms of understanding the movie better! You get that feeling that you've actually been there in the movie, if that makes any sense!
I think the best example for me was the Harry Potter books! I loved the books and I cetainly enjoyed the movies a whole lot more for having read the books prior to the movies. I guess I enjoy reading books during the daylight hours and then I snuggle up with a good movie during the evening hours and it certainly helps to pass the time. Andrew

Now that my days are work work work, I prefer to watch a movie. That is because less time is spent in the theater or watching home videos than reading chapter and chapters from a book. I think this is kinda unfortunate because reading is a very leisurely and mind stimulating experience. But time schedule makes me opt to watch movies instead.

I prefer in watching TV because I can view the characters of what they look like. It is so nice to watch TV because you feel the feelings. There you can show there emotions, like crying. you can also know where the message is given to or how he/she act. i like it better to watch because you know whats its color, you can identify if it is beautiful or not. While in reading, you just read, you don't know what it look like.
