I red a news yesterday night that many developed countries had stopped their support programs in China, such as Japan,Germany and England. These countries explained China had become the world's second-largest economy and a big consumption country of luxury, the success of the 2008 Olympic Games and 2010 EXPO had also showed China's strong and wealth.Foreign friends, just according to what you know and your first feeling,do you think China is a wealthy country?

Ofcourse. China is a wealthy country. It is now capable of challenging other deceloped countries. But as a matured country China must be a responsible country.

But things are about to change 5 or 10 years from now. I think China would end up replacing the US as a Superpower in a matter of years from now.

in terms of money, i'm an absolute poor chinese boy. i was graduate from school for 4 years, worked for 2 manufacture factories and 1 new energy company. but always get a little of money to overwork till now. i always asked myself when you can buy an apartment a car? i don't know answer me alone. in fact, maybe i'm a lucky boy fundamental i have a job belong to myself own at least. but new university students perhaps unluck, graduation mean unemployment. so do you still think china is a wealthy county?

I am in the states and we actually have that same problem...maybe worse because we have an awful lot of foreign people here whom we give money to so they can come and buy up business and fire all the american employees and hire their own people. We have a lot of homeless people and people without jobs here. Alot of our jobs have been outsourced to China and other countries. The products that we get from china are of poor quality and I think they probably pay their people poorly and at a cheaper rate than they would be paying in the US for the same work.

Hoho,i'm a Chinese too,i always believe that china is still a poor country, especially the gap between the rich and the poor is very large, more serious than America actually. And i think the foriengers just see the wealthy groups of people in China who often spend money endlessly.

China is a wealthy country only because of its hard working citizens. They can build towers in days. No other country has a non-stop work force as compared to china. According to me this is the only reason for their success.

I don't think China is a wealthy country. Actually many people are so poor. The problem is the wealth is in a few powerful people's hands. Most people are just ordinary. But some Chinese are really rich and it can make a shock. They have the money because they have the power. As to the Olympic Games and Shanghai Expo. It costs billions of money and therefore it gave a wrong impression for the foreigners that China is so rich today. I just think that the money is spent in a wrong way. I wish one day most of the people could be beneficial from this wealth. Today the house, education and healthcare are the biggest burdens for most people. I wish our government could think about it and use the money for the people. I don't need the "Face Project".
I love China

Why are Chinese people so diligent but not wealthy? Because Chinese economic prosperity most depends on manufacturing industry, which is the lowest profit part in a complete industria chain.Hope the government could use the money in the poor place and try best to resolve the problems people cared.
And i think the people who get wealthy first should comply with Deng Xiaoping's dream to help others to get wealthy too.All in all,the problems are immense.
I love China,too.

My father in law migrated from mainland China. He would often say, "In the long run, China will win." I think, China is a strong country. But it has to spread its wealth to the people. Some Chinese people are living below the poverty line. They work hard but they are paid so small.

If the country is rich that does not mean every person of that country is reach. Even the richest country of the world, America, has beggars in them. Based on what I read and hear I feel china has developed into a rich country. In terms of economic power and the size of its economy it is only next to America. Experts feel that they are going to overtake even America in few years time.

You're so optimistic about China,in fact the domestic problems in China are very serious, such as corruption, resource abuse, and environmental pollution. And the public trust of the local government is not high like before, many local official just try to promote GDP regardless of the disapproval of the masses. If one day China could really take over America, their leaders must try their best to resolve these problems first.

Dear yeyelee,
This is always the problem with developing states while the cream layer of the society enjoys the benefits of development first, it takes time for the benefits to reach to poor and downtrodden. Be are comparing our plight with that of the western world but let us not forget they have been developed for ages and most of them at the cost of developing countries like ours.

I'm a Chinese, but I still don't konw whether our country is a wealthy one or not. You know, every country has the rich and the poor, and China makes no exception. As far as I know, there are many rich guys in China, and the house price is becoming up and up, you're just an ordinarily-consuming people if you earn ?10,000 per year. There are many more guys earn more. But, to the contrast, there are a large number of people who live under common line.

I have heard that it is a wealthy country. I only know what I read and I'm not sure that it is accurate but from what I read then yes it is. I do know that we (here in the states) have outsourced a great amount of our work to China and here in the states the economy is horrible and people are having trouble finding work. I know that our country helps other countries before we help our own and we even help countries that hate us. From what I read then China has a great many poor people as well as wealthy people....that's how it is everywhere. If that is true then they should look to their own government to help them, I think. Again, I only read one article on this topic so I really don't have a strong stance on the subject because I know only what little our media tells us on it.
