MOst people said men are the best decision maker, but a lot said, too, that women as mothers could take best care of the nation. What gender do you think is most likely the best to be the president?

I don't think it has anything to do with gender... I think it has more to do with the person's values and virtues ... And only God can tell who is really fit to be President, in any nation, particularly in the Philippines. Of course considering the fact that no one's perfect, I think even though that's the case, we really need some standards here as guidelines... And I think I'll just keep those standards to myself.Lol. Don't wanna be blabbing about that here at mylot, I'm trying to avoid offending anyone here that's why.

I agree with you kquiming. It has nothing to do with gender as long as he/she has a good heart, right values in life, concern to his nation.

There must be some difference between man and woman when they face the same certain issues, man are more aggressive and woman might be a little too gentle.woman are inclined to resolve the problems peacefully I guess. In the internation stage I believe men will be more suitable to talk with the other leaders because they might be mighty.

you have a point there. but why does it seem these days that quite many women are getting into politics or leadership?

Men are better decision makers. They are firm and unwavered by emotions. Of the leaders I dealt with, men are the better leaders. But that doesn't mean that the presidency should be limited to this gender. It doesn't mean that the majority of men are this way. That all men are great leaders. Generally, it doesn't matter who or what a president is. One should just serve his/her country right and have a team that balance his/her whole administration.

Comparing the human species as divided into two groups is ineffectual and pointless. There are many many variations and contributing factors that go into making a person besides male or female. And the skills and capabilities that go into making a good leader are influenced by the same number of variables. I think that the only real reason that historically there are fewer examples of capable female leaders is because almost every culture has discouraged women as political leaders. A good leader comes from a combination of capability, inclination, and opportunity. Any blanket statement in this regard as to the suitability of any single group is pointless and self serving.

I also agree with woman, because women more careful and patience love her people as her son, but men also have some advantage such as decisive and courageous, woman like to solve a problem with sensibility easily come out from emotion, full of justice and want take perfect to whole people, may be she really could sacrifice herself for the sons and daughters. but man treat every thing like to from rationality, ask more reason and why. some time even bad idea but good to country he will do it. so in heart I choose woman to be president.

you have a point there, but women are also very emotional and being such could somehow affect the decision negatively.

I think, it is not about the gender who can ideally lead the country or to be a President. It may be true that man by nature is a leading or having a superior nature while the female gender has the mother kind of attitude, still we cannot really tell who can lead. In my opinion, it is about the personality of the person chosen to be a leader that matters. It is not about his or her gender because I believe that any one can be a leader regardless of the gender.

Well if you ask me gender doesn't matter much. But being a women can give you some advantages i think. I am not sure maybe i have been rerading so many books nowadays. SO i feel a lot better if man is treated by his/her attitude instead of going for the looks or gender discrimnation... Cheers!

gender should not be an issue in choosing a president, the real issue is if a candidate is capable of handling and solving the problems that the country is facing.. i really think that presidents must be good in decision making, must be wise enough to deal with all the concerns of the nation, regardless of your gender , if you're capable enough and you know in your heart that you can help your nation then you're it. :)
