I suggest watching Blue Bloods, which airs Friday Nights at 10:00pm. Its well casted and the first episode won the night, which says a lot. Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, and Len Cariou are actors I have watched in other roles and their relationships to each other really make this must see television.
The show is about a family of New York cops. I was a fan of Prison Break also. Sadly, one of the actors is on Chase a very bad new show this season. I was hoping to once again regularly see one of the Prison Break cast, but that isn't a good choice. Last season I watched Heroes to see one of the cast members and his role wasn't good on Heroes.
If your looking for a long running show, then I would suggest NCIS like one of the other posters. Its one of the few shows that can get good ratings opposite American Idol. This shows how dedicated the fans are viewing every episode and even the reruns do well.

Hey, it's nice to see you! I've been looking out for any discussions you may be doing. I see you on Gather, but not much on here. I've always liked your discussions.
Blue Bloods has gotten great reviews. I haven't seen it, but with a cast like that, how could anyone go wrong?

I find myself watching the following:
1)Dexter (If you have showtime, it is on the fifth season though, so you might want to find a way to watch the others first?)
2)Various CBS shows Big Bang Theory (Thursdays)How I met Your Mother; Mike and Mindy; Two and a Half Men (Mondays)
3)Castle an ABC
4)Pawn Stars on History
Fringe might be your style, I haven't watched it but it's a character driven drama-type. I'm not too sure what else is on lately.

I like The Big C. It is on the same channel that Weeds was on. It is about a woman who has cancer but doesn't want to tell her family. It is really funny!
I also like Dexter.
I love Castle. It is a cop show but has lots of funny stuff too.
I am currently liking Hellcats more than I thought I would. But it is sort of a chick show.
I love Criminal Minds about behavioral profilers.
I am also watching the new Hawaii Five-O. It seems really good. I never watched the original, so I have no comparison.
Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters are good too.
Parenthood is really funny too. It is about a family. Parents, 4 siblings, their kids and the relationships between them all.

I like The Mentalist and Psych. Psych is "crimedy" - a blend of comedy and crime solving, and one of the funniest, and wittiest, shows on TV. The Mentalist has humor, but focuses more on how the main character, Patrick Jane, solves cases using skills he built up as a former, in his words "fake psychic."

I really like all the "Survival" type shows out there now. Survivor Man, Man Vs. Wild, Dual Survivor, Man, Woman, Wild, The Colony, etc. Those shows are great entertainment as well as useful knowledge to have. Other than that I basically watch the Discovery Channel. The LEarning Channel or the History Channel. Pretty boring to most I guess but I prefer watching things that I come away from having learned something. Oh and reruns of The King Of Queens, LOVE that one ;)

It really depends on what kind of TV show you are looking for...
In my own opinion, the new shoes to look out for are:
1. Hawaii Five-0
2. The Undercovers
3. Mike and Molly
4. #@?! My Dad Says
5. Hellcats
6. Outsourced

For the record, I am 29 and enjoy a wide variety of shows, some comedic, some serious. So when I tell you what I think the best show is right now, try not to laugh too hard at me. I would say it is The Vampire Diaries. Last year when it premiered, I was not impressed. By midseason I was hooked. It was action packed and every single episode it seemed like something new was being revealed. It didn't keep you hanging and not give you a payoff. After the season premiere a couple of weeks ago, I'm even more hooked. If by chance you are not laughing at me right now (and I wouldn't blame you if you did), you can catch up with it on hulu.com. It's got some great looking guys, but seeing as you are a dude (from your photo), I'll tell you it's got some smokin' hot ladies too. And there are also werewolves and other beings, it isn't just vampires.
*Interesting side not, the guy who plays Jeremy on the show, is the grandson of the late great Steve McQueen.
