In this modern world peoples migrate from one place to another for so many reasons, some for family some for economy and some for peace of mind. I am also trying to get abroad for better and peace full life coz my country is full of political disturbance and violence.
What about you are you immigrant or you are living in your ancestors country. If you are immigrant why you have moved to this country?

I live in England which is part of the United Kingdom. I was born here and to my knowledge my ancestors did too. I think it is a shame that my parents didn't decide to emigrate to Australia. Years before I was born there was an offer of emigrating there for 10 pounds. In my home country it is multi cultural. There are people that came from many different countries. Immigrants are attracted to my home country because it is an English speaking country. It is language which is taught across the world. I would emigrate to Australia if it was possible.

Hello,Rocky!
I'm not an imigrant and do you know why?
I think that I can't live without my friends,my mom,my brother, without see the forrest where I went when I was a little girl, without trees from my street...
I know..sometimes is hard to find a good job in your country, but I can't go away from my house at all, even my life is hard sometimes! This is just my opinion!
Happy lotting!

Thats good, surroundings and relations also attracts me but if your country cant give you justice and peace then these things lost their values. Every one faces hardships in life and i never run from hardships of life but now its quite above from my stamina.

Thats very true that we are all immigrants but the thing hurts me so much that why i cant freely migrate to any other part of the world now. I can understand the modern world issues but i desperately want to migrate to USA or Canada.

I'm from Canada and most people here are immigrants in the past 200 years. One of my Grandpas is from Ireland. My Great Grandparents are from the UK.

I did some checking on where my ancestors came from at some point, and found out that I'm very much leaving in the same country. There was a Swede back in the lingonberry wars, but Swedes in Norway hardly count as foreigners. Although it did at some point, as we were at war, but both the war and the ancestor is several hundred years ago. I also found someone with a German name back in the 16 century, so I suspect there could be some Germans there.
Apart from those two, all I could find were Norwegians. Farmers mainly, up in the valleys and some fishermen on the coast.
Maybe that's why I like travelling so much, I'm fleeing from my past ...

I am impressed, your knowledge about your ancestors is very deep. I hardly knows about my father's grandfather for about 70 yrs back and we are from same soil till now but now i want to migrate from here.
Thanks for reply.

If your from the rights parts of Norway, it's quite easy to find out quite a lot because there are church records going hundreds of years back. If you're from somewhere where records perished in a fire or your ancestors wandered up and down along the coast, it's more difficult.
You've got much shorter generations than in my family though, 70 years for your fathers grandfather? My father was born 70 years ago :-) So my fathers grandfather would have been born around 1860, but then both my father and my grandfather got children really late, and my grandfather was the youngest of 5 siblings.

I am living in India and was born here only. A lot of people from my country do migrate to places in middle-east, UK and US. They do face problems, but lead better lifestyles there.
Here is some related information:
"
In less than four years since the government gave Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) a second chance to reconnect with the country of their forefathers, more than half a million foreign nationals have acquired the coveted Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI).
Popularly known as ' dual citizenship', OCI was first mooted in December 2005 to woo the rich and influential Indian diaspora from across the world. Recently, the scheme was in news when Nobel laureate V S Naipaul, whose ancestors belonged to UP's Gorakhpur, was given a hard time by overzealous babus in London when he applied for the card. Naipaul was asked to provide documents to prove that his ancestors indeed lived in India.

I live in another country than where I was born. I moved because of my fiancee. I still miss my home country though!
