we are having a practice sice childhood of having a complete meal with rice...
We also wish we could switch to bread and pastries as main dishes, but, it is not really practical, the much more cheaper next to corn grained meals is rice...

Yes, very much...I always eat it in every meal.. It is our staple food here in the country, too. I also feel quite incomplete when there is no rice at the table..

Oh god. I like rice very much. I think that's probably because I'm Asian. I like rice the way a huge chunk of Asian girls like Hello Kitty.
There was a point when I became bored of plain white rice, but a little bit of experimenting made it yummier. For example, instead of using plain water to cook it, I use really good broth. Or I throw in some peas and carrots and cubes of ham in my rice cooker and 15 minutes after, I have a complete, yummy meal.
The key to rice, I think, is to treat it like a blank canvas. The possibilities are endless!

I don't like rice, I live with rice! I love it. It gives me energy all day long. And it's always the partner of what we call in my country 'ulam' or viands or dishes. Rice balances the tastes of the ulam, and it's the least processed grain, probably. There are lots of species of rice, and I love to eat the rice that's a bit sticky when cooked, because it contains much more energy than the non-sticky rice.
