Looking at the history of religion and the bible I've found an interesting thread. The Old Testament set up the Jewish faith, which, was united as a common practice. Until man began using it for personal glory and benefit. So, God comes down in the form of Jesus, shows the world how we're really supposed to worship and work in His ways. The New Testament is then formed which sets up the Christian faith. Originally, it was to be one faith and one church formed around the works of Jesus. It worked for a while, until, once again, man began using it for personal glory and benefit. Now, we have all these different denominations and beliefs. The Bible itself has been the same since it's first publication. The words are the same in the Old and New Testaments. So, how can one book form so many different viewpoints?

i think it's because for one, it's our nature as human beings to have our own opinions or point of views on different things and we just have to agree to disagree because that's how we all are...
another thing is, i believe the translation of the Bible into different languages and versions (like there's the King James version, New International Version, etc...) - the process somehow changed some of its meaning or implication of message...
that's just my opinion!!

Kquiming, your point is correct as far the existing of difference in part of because of the non Semitic languages that scripture was translated in. However even before than there were difference as far as who jesus was. There is a book writen by a former christian that give clear convincing proof that not everyone believed Jesus to be God or the son of God but believed in him as someone who came in the name of God.

Any book is capable of doing that. Unless it is very clear on what it is tring to saw many people can read the same thing and form differnt ideas about it. Here is an example. The dog jumped over the bird. Do you see a small dog taking a running jump and jumping over a huge bird? Do you see a huge dog jumping over a baby bird? Do you see a real dog or maybe more like an animated one? The sentence wasn't very clear and everyone thinks their way is the right way.

You have a very good point.I don't know.A lot of religions have simply changed some of the writing's in the book and to make the wording more to their personal beliefs.Plus, even today myself and many other's are still trying to understand what a lot of those words mean even thou we are both Christian's,read from the KJV and go to the same church listening to the same pastor,we have our different opinions about what it means.
