Our traditional college courses are 16 weeks long. We have other options like 12 week, 8 weeks and 5 weeks. I am currently enrolled in a 8 week courses and it is so stressful. I have to read at least 150 pages a week, 3 homework assignments and a major exam every two weeks. And this is just for one of my 3 classes I am taking. I dont know it its because its an Accounting course and all the information I have to remember but I am just drained and only halfway through it.
Has anyone ever taken a speed/short course and felt this way? How was your experience with your class and the workload?

I'm taking two 12 week courses right now. Not too bad, but they just started. One I'm behind in the reading, but that's okay because a lot of people in the class haven't been able to buy the book so the teacher is being lenient. At my other college, California Institute of Technology, we're on a trimester system so we have 10 week long terms with one week for exams. Man, does it get hectic. We have weekly problem sets that can take 12 hours long with collaboration, have to attend lectures, do readings, take quizzes, midterms, and finals. The midterms and finals are normally a minimum of 4 hours long each. I've had some that were 5.5 hours long. People normally take 5 or 6 classes a term although some people overload. Our school is full of crazy academic types though. It's what we all signed up for. Students in the past have compared it to like taking a drink from a fire hose. I would not be able to get through school without ADHD medication, however. Those pills are a godsend. I hope you hang in there and make it through. You'll be amazed by how much you can learn in such a short time. We easily make it through thick textbooks. All in the fun I guess.

Congrats on your degree. I have two Associates Degrees and I am working on my BBA in Accounting. I plan to continue and work on a MBA but I do want to get a MSA in Forensic Accounting.
I love school and to learn. I could go forever, lol. Good luck to you in the job hunting.
