When did you start drinking coffee?

I remember when I was a little girl I thought my parents were disgusting for drinking coffee! My dad drank it strong and black, and my mom drank it with a lot of milk and sugar. I swore I would NEVER drink coffee, what in the world would possess someone to drink that nasty stuff?? I am a Starbucks girl... I love lattes, fraps, mochas. I drink my brewed coffee strong with flavored creamer or I get toffee nut fraps and vanilla caramel lattes. I LOVE MY COFFEE. When did you start drinking coffee? When you were still a kid? When you got older? Never?

LOL! I used to get frappucinos all the time - the blended ones - until I discovered they have like 900 calories in ONE. I stopped drinking them for awhile but now you can have them made with nonfat milk and with light ingreds (read sugar free etc) and so I have been having them again. I like raspberry mocha ones

A few months ago. Actually since I was about 16 I loved cappuccinos, but still refused to try coffee. I must have tried it black once and hated it. I finally learned the right portion of cream and sugar to make it good enough, and now that's all I ever drink.

I can do milk or cream and sugar, but these days I usually use splenda. My favorite creamer is vanilla or toffee nut coffeemate!

I'm not sure when, it was back in elementary days. It was when my mom and I visited a close relative, it's a habit here that if we have visitors, we offer a drink or food. That time she can only offer a coffee, for she doesn't have milk or chocolate drink or juice. It tasted good, and sweet (which I liked most), then that was the start.

I started drinking coffee at age 13. I was spending a week with an aunt who lived miles out in the country. They had well water, which, in my opinion, was undrinkable. I found out the hard way why my mother always brought a quart or more of water with h when we went to visit Aunt Louise. Anyway, during that week, I got pretty thirsty. The coffee flavor covered up the terrible taste of the water, so I learned to drink coffee.

I think I was in college about the time that I started drinking coffee. However, even to this day I would be honest in saying that I really don't drink coffee on a regular basis. I like Starbucks Frappucinos and I like to drink some hot coffee from time to time with lots of cream and sugar in it (extra points if it is flavored cream, my favorite is Italian Sweet Cream). I would say that I average about 2-3 coffee drinks in a week.

Oh. Good for you. For me, even if I am 29 plus years old, some friends and my parents would not allow me to drink coffee. They said that its bad for my health while "them" are drinking coffee anytime they want-- isn't it unfair? Huh? (@_@)

I just started drinking coffee in 2006. I never liked the smell or the taste of it. It use to make my stomach turn to smell it. NOW... I am as addicted to the damn thing! I drink about two cups a day. I love the flavored creamers too.

Late teens, I suppose, but I don't drink it much any more. I'm more of a tea drinker since my 20's when coffee was so hard on my stomach.

I've never been able to acquire a taste for coffee in anything but ice cream.

I first started to love coffee back when I was about 5 years old, and I`d make a drink with my Mom`s instant coffee. Pretty much the same as normal coffee, only I`d use cold water, for a delicious refreshing coffee drink. Nowadays, I have 7 different kinds of coffee makers, from the espresso machine to the Vietnamese single cup drip, I have it all, and I just love coffee. It is absolutely one of my favourite things in the world.

I never liked the smell of coffee when I was a child and when I was a teenager and then a young adult I only drank tea, never coffee. But when I was about 23 I think in 1997, I bought a tin of instant coffee as we always had guests coming over who wanted coffee. I think I was offered a coffee around the same year at work maybe and decided to try it. I was instantly hooked and had it most mornings first thing for about the next ten years. It has been a few years now since I have had a coffee. I can't remember if I gave it up in 2007 or 2008. I stopped consuming dairy products firstly and my main concern with doing this was how my coffee was going to taste black. I got used to that fairly quickly and did that for about a year, but then decided that coffee had to go. Coffee is not good at all. Caffeine is one of the most addictive substances out there which is why coffee is the number one beverage on earth. It was hard for me to give it up initially as I craved it. Once when I succumbed to the cravings and had a coffee for the first time after about a month, I had the most awful shakes and I felt like something bad had invaded my body. It was then that I decided that I would never have caffeine again.

When I was little and saw my folks drinking coffee, they told me it was not for kids coz it would stunt our growth. I'm not sure if this was an old wives tale, but I rather took it seriously. I started drinking coffee in my early 30s. I'm 39 now, latebloomer indeed. I like it with a lot of cream and sugar; I don't take it black. I've experienced some palpitations with a few sips, so never black again. Now, it is a must breakfast partner. I'm still a very light drinker, I could not handle more than 2 cups a day.

I started drinking coffee when I was around 10 years old. I'm still a coffee addict up to now. Though I would want to stop because I'm getting acidic.

I started drinking coffee when we attended a conference while i was still in highschool. It wasn't a regular thing though, only when I didn't have a choice or I really needed the caffeine fix. I wasn't a coffee drinker in college. It started to be regular when I worked already, specially when I moved to the bpo industry. Starbucks is a favorite too, but not the spending :)

I was never a coffee drinker. i just never cared for the aroma or taste of it. Several of my family members are coffee drinkers. i believe this habit for them was started at a young age and never stopped. We all enjoy beverages for different reasons. We just don't all enjoy the same ones.

I touched coffee in secondary school. Found that it could keep me awake in long study nights. Fell in love with it ever since.

I started drinking coffee in my teens. That was the time i got my first job in a cafe and that's how i got started. As i'm a service crew back then, i have to learn alot of things, including making various drinks and coffees. In order to do it well, i have to learn to drink it, only then i'm able to tell what's a good and bad coffee. From there, i'm able to improve and knows how to correct my colleague's mistakes when customers returned the coffee due to bad tasting or not hot etc.
