stop/start technology on car, great for fuel consumption

If you are look into reduce fuel consumption on your vehicle. There is a great news that American cars, and other brand name of cars will bring in those stop/start technology for the car market. Just imagine that you stop your car when the traffic light turns red. Once your foot leave the brake, the car automatically stop the running engine. When you are ready to go again, the engine will automatically start again. This way, you can reduce fuel consumption by 15% according to statistics. What do you think about this technology in our car market?

It is a really great invention but has a serious problem. If the lights turn green within 1 minute your consuption not be better nor lesser. It will grow. So this technology is only good if you use it where red lights last more than one minute.
Otherhands every time you turn on your engine it consume much more gas and energy than moving with 100 kmh. So its good on first sight but there is a lot to improve...
