Oh absolutely they do, but it is not their fault, it is the fans and public that for some reason keep dishing out all the big bucks especially for the crap that some dish out. Then you have the actors who truly deserve more and well never get recognized and never get famous.

hello SLF, Well,some big producers and movie stars are helping charities,they don't just let it print in news of have some public appearances in television. It's a mutual business,the producers to produce big and extravagant movies,and pay big stars for their movies to earn big too. For the movie stars to be paid with big amount so they can help more charity works. Each time there were calamities,big stars never give second thought of giving big amount of money,and so with the movie producers. But,if only those big stars will join hand in hand and put their money in one charity ,then,i believed they can build a home,school and shelter for street children all over the world. Not to mention the billionaires in the business industry who had their money lying in the bank for nothing. But,this the reality of life,not everyone is generous,and most generous people are those who are not rich,becoz they are the one who totally understand how does poor people feel,wants and need. I think Hollywood stars deserves this money, They make the world with fun and bring smile on our face. I am happy to see many Hollywood stars contribute donations in disaster times, hospitals and for poors.

Yes definitely...movies are just for entertainment...they aren't essential for people to be able to live...I think that the values are all reversed so what's not really important became important and vice versa. I think people who make food, vegetables and similar stuff should be paid more and they struggle to survive although they work for many hours and their jobs are really difficult, while movie stars spend a few weeks on set and they get millions. You can't eat a movie...you can't drink it...you can't use it as medicine!

Not really. They are being paid what someone is willing to pay them to star in a movie. Here in the U.S., some stars are bankable. Essentially what that means is that the star has such drawing power that a bank is willing to finance making a movie which is typically a very risky business. Even after paying a star what their asking price is, the studio is making money. If they weren't, they wouldn't pay those kinds of dollars. I think that it is an individual decision what stars or anyone else does with their money but some of the major stars are very very giving people. As much empathy as I hae for those that are dying because they don't have food and water, I'm afraid that I don't see a connection. I don't think that anyone should command less of a salary because others in this world do not have money for basic necessities. Please take a step back and look at all of the wonderful things that many wealthy people in this country are doing for others. Bill and Melinda Gates would be a great place to start. Mu husband and I aren't wealthy by any stretch of the imagination. We are retired and live on social security yet we make sacrifices so that we can contribute to our church's project to feed the homeless and make consistent contributions to the food bank.

I don't think so. I think they deserve for this. So they get a great amount of money. And I think them always doing hard work for their movies. So their movies getting more publicity. So I think it is good that Hollywood star winning more money than other star.

Yeah they probably earn more money than most of us here on my lot combine. I guess luck is on their side. I wish I could earn that much, but personally i think most if not all deserve their paycheck. I can imagine the work they put on their image, I sometimes wonder whats going on their mind if one of their movie flops. I dont like people prying on my private life and then the world will see my nervous breakdown then after that everyone will give their opinion about it.

The issue is subjective and objective. On an objective level I think that they are paid within reason (considering the freedom of the market). The only limit on what they can make depends on how talented their agents are in getting them the right contract. They are not breaking any laws by making alot of money. On a subjective level some may say that by being paid so much they should play a more charitable role in society or decrease the size of their contracts. I can understand why some feel that way as it is difficult for the common man to understand why someone would require a yearly $20+ million salary. My personal opinion is that the amounts of money that some make within the industry is too much for one person. If I made that much money I could see myself giving the majority of it to charity as I would have no need for it.
