..without knowing...what is your reaction?! Today I discovered that a picture taken by my friend with a famous singer in Uk,in 2007, has been posted on a facebook group without her noticed it. Someone told me that we don't have any sort of "copyright" when we upload a pic on the web,but I don't agree. Uploading a pic(especially a personal one or a pic that you have taken with your fave singer) don't allow people to stole them and re*posting in their own websites or pages without asking for a permission..The girl who stole the picture remove the credits, that's to say the name of my friend. I don't think is an appropriate behaviour..I only think that people should ask before use your own stuff.

I was a member of a message board in which I witnessed an individual be put through harassment, bullying, and embarrassment. Some members of the message board took a man's picture and used it to make fun of him. The man was a member of the message board so he witnessed his picture being ridiculed and made fun of by hundreds of message board users. Some people photoshopped his personal pictures in order to make fun of him further. He was later ran off of the message board because he was so embarrassed. One should always be careful when they have their picture taken. You never know what someone could do with your picture.

I absolutely agree with you. But if I mark the picture with MY name, the most easy thing to do is asking me : "Marta, can I use your photo? Can I put it into my profile?".. The problem is this. If I take a picture during a concert, that pictureis mine. The property of the pic is only mine. Nothing allow people to steel it..Just a simple "Can I...?".. :)

When you take a photo, you own the copyright whether you register the copyright or not, Your friend can ask the web site to remove the photo or you may sue. You will not have an easy time if the web site decides to challenge, but you have notified them that they are using copyright material with out permission. Be Careful what you put on the web as other will pick it up and use it or claim it as their own work.

Yes we all must be careful on how we post pics as there are so many out there that will do this daily. This is why I try as much as I can to use an avatar and not of my pic.
