Running a Red Light

An ex Australian Prime Minister was just let off in court for running a red light. The magistrate said it was his word against two policemen and he swore that it was still yellow when he went through. However, I thought that the law says that you must stop on a yellow light and only proceed through if it changes to yellow when you are too close to stop safely. If that is the case, he must have gone through just as it was changing from yellow to red and therefore is really running a red light and should have been found guilty. What do you reckon.

Which ex Prime Minister did this happen to? I think that this is just another case of someone getting away with a crime just because of who they are. It is not right. Most people would just pay the fine as it is not really that big a deal. I would not even think of contesting a red light offence in court!
