Have you ever been soo mad that you had to HIT something or somebody?? I have been mad like that lately and I can say... that it is scary. One can be very destructive at a time like that.. and needs to be steered clear of until they are calm again. Then again, lots of people like to push other people's buttons like they won't retaliate. I say never underestimate anyone!!

"Mad" is a powerful word and so is "HIT something or someone." I'm becoming a little concerned that your situation is not good. But if things that out of control please go into your bedroom, turn the radio up and punch your pillow till all the anger and frustration is out of you. Then get down on your knees and have a heart to heart talk with God and tell him all your feelings and that you need some serious help here. You need the help of a caring friend at this time. If you need help with prayer, then are some people going door to door and they are now distributing an article on "Seven things you need to know about prayer. Please be careful as uncontrolled anger only leads to more troubles. As a friend of mine used to say, "anger is only one letter away from danger."

My anger rarely gets up like that... but the last time that it didn't.... I did feel like I couldn't control it. I'm just glad that it doesn't happen often and I will be prepared for the next time it does happen. Usually it is someone else that makes me that angry... and I just need to eliminate those type of people OUT of my life. You're right.. prayer does change quite a lot. And it changed me. Your friend sounds very wise... because that is very true.

That's true,we should never underestimate anyone,we never knew their capacity of their reaction when they feel annoyed or irritated.
I once did a mad action when my nephew was bullied by adults, and my nephew is just a kid.
My nephew comes home crying,so pale and shaking in fright.
And,without asking any question,i searched the guys who bullied him and give a hard punch on the face of their leader.
That was a quick and unexpected action of me,i don't even remember how i did it.
So,since then,i always tried to calm down and think first before making any actions not to make such drastic move again.
Have a good day always

Wow. I understand how you must have felt. Your nephew is lucky to have had you in his corner. I don't condone in violence or say that it is the "answer". But, sometimes.. you have no other choice.

Hi, mrscallands22 I read the discussion and the responses, looks like our friend formidexo has given you really great advice.
You seem to be a sensible girl and probably already know some good ways to avoid getting angry. You are right, a good idea is to avoid people that irritate you until they calm down - hopefully.
It can be difficult these days as so many are stressed by different things in their life and feel frustrated and may also need help to control their anger.
The best thing we can do if we meet someone behaving like that is to answer in a way that they might calm down.
Another way to remain calm in this stressing world is to think of our diet. It is well known that if we eat junk food with heated bad fats, it may cause disturbance in our brain and makes us irritable.
If I meet a very angry person, I try to calm down by thinking that there must be lacking some good fats in their brain..
Taking time to read the Bible also helps to change our mood to the better. One of my favorite Psalms is 37 and in verse 8 we read
"Stop being angry!
Turn from your rage!
Do not lose your temper—
it only leads to harm."
I suggest you read all this Psalm 37 under prayer, and I am sure you will feel the kind of peace that only God can give.
"Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." Philippiands 4:6,7(New Living Translation)

Thanks for BR award and thanks for adding me as friend!!
I asked God to help me to find the right words and he did! Instantly this time.
Sometimes we have to wait for his answer for a while, he maybe wants to see if we are really serious about what we ask for.
"Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened." Matthew 7:7,8
If you would like to listen to the Bible, or some other encouraging literature or Bible dramas etc, why not go to http://www.jw.org/index.html?option=nBZR
I have subscribed for the magazines to my Gmail, they have an option that says Reader and it is very practical, you can just listen to something encouraging and relax and forget about stress..

Life can be difficult at times.. and I thank you for listing those Bible verses. I don't read the Bible like I should and maybe some inspiring words would lift my spirit and enlighten my life. I am just intolerable to certain things now because I have so much already hanging over my head. Unnecessary extra added stress is just what puts the icing on the cake for me at this point in my life. So, therefore I try to avoid conflict, confrontation and disagreements. Because right now I am a bomb ticking. So... therefore I have slipped into isolation mode.. which has been lonely... but good for me so far. It's not really much to do where I live anyway.. and I'm certainly not going to run the street and become even more scatterbrained. So.. I stay home.. and inside.. and what makes it a little better is that it has been raining for quite some time now.. and that discourages me from going out into the "new cold" for now. The only thing about loneliness is depression because I tend to sit and think alot. I just need to find something to occupy my time.. I guess that's why I'm here!! Your response really comforted me. Best response award goes to you!!

Yes i have been so mad a lot of times and i have learnt to control my anger a lot lately and people find that as a good quality because i am not outside breaking someone's hand or leg just for a silly reason.
Whenever i am angry now i just go and bang anything hard like my punching bag maybe or just against a wall. Then my hand hurts in return and physical pain is a good distraction for me.
I have also tried that counting ten thing but i am so impatient so that didn't work out so well.
Cheers!
