When i go shopping, i am always pleased to see the salesladies smiling at me. I also appreciate their help on making choices into some items whenever I am confused. I am glad that they do know how to show good customer service.
For me, it's very important for it might affects my day, my feelings and my whole life.Hehe..

Customer service is extremely important, any where you go. I think I would feel uncomfortable and unwanted if people within that business and/or organization weren't friendly and I definitely wouldn't want to come back. Just knowing that people are knowledgeable and friendly makes any enviornment comfortable. Unfortunatley not everyone is fit for customer service, I am the first to admit that I would never do customer service, I don't have the patience and I don't hold back on my thoughts. So for me customer service is definitely out of the question that is why I stay away from those type of jobs.

I'd love to have pre-sales service and after sales service for everything that I would buy.
When something goes wrong with the product/service, I need someone to explain to me what to do and how to do things to enjoy the product/service again.
It just makes you feel important as a customer.

customer service is very important for me. i used to be a salesman during my school break. i believe that if a company's service for their customer is good enough, people won't care to buy a product from it. it is not enough to have a superior product for a company, 'selling' their services is also crucial. what i'm not satisfy is the service at most of the government departments. it is rare to see effectiveness and efficiency on them.

Customer service is a bigie in my book. I will go someplace further away or someplace that costs a little bit more if I get better customer service.
I think it has to do partially with the fact that I've been there. I've worked those kind of jobs.
Just like Shannon J, I worked at a Kroger company (I worked at Dillon's, but it's the same company) and customer service was a HUGE issue there, especially in my department, I worked in the "Customer Service" desk. I also worked tech support for an internet service provider, and again, customer service was a huge focus there as well.
I also try to go out of my way and tell the manager about someone who does an excellent job providing customer service. I know a lot of times the managers only hear the bad things, so I want to let them know about something good for once.

Definitely seeing smiling faces is so inviting to shoppers. I was fascinated by the cashiers politeness with the greeting 'How you're doing?' on every customer that comes to pay when I was shopping in Australia. This is indeed a good approach to make customers come back again. I feel customers service is important for any establishment if they want customers support.

hi tess I also think good customer service is very important as the sales clerk or waitress is in a way selling something and we are the customers and if we are not treated nicely we can opt to got to a different store or restaurant. It is so nice to be waited on by someone who smiles at you and makes you feel you are valued as a customer.Yes the way you are treated can make you feel good all day or make you feel irritated and even angry.I know even when I worked as a nurse's aide we were taught to treat our patients with smiles and kind words. I know as a patient how I dreaded one nurse who was always so sour faced and surly, and how I welcomed this young male nurse who had a smile and many kind words. You are so vulnerable when you are ill and in the hospital and the way you are treated can help you get well sooner or actually delay your progress.customer service is really so important

Oh yes that's really important, we feel at ease and in good mood when we see salesladies smiling, polite and kind that always willing to assist customers. Others who are rude and strict really affect us that sometimes lose our interest in shopping.

I have very high expectations on customer service, this is because i used to manage a shop before falling pregnant wiht baby number 2.
If I walk into the shop and see a low level of customer service, I will complain to management and then I will complain to head office, I will not go into that shop again until I am sure that the customer service is up to scratch. I love shops with a high level of customer service and will go out of my way to go back to the shop with the high level of customer service.
Its just good manners and makes people feel good about shopping there!

It shouldn't lead us solely to buy. If that happens then we are being tricked. And that's a cheat. Instead, it should help alot in guiding us to make an informed decision whether we make the purchase or not. That's partly customer service.
