Hi everyone, I've just joined myLot a couple of days ago, and, after being seriously addicted to Yahoo Answers and WikiAnswers for a long time, I think I'll fit right in here. I would greatly appreciate if some of you veterans would take the time to clarify a problem for me. When replying to a topic, there is the option to add tags. Do you use it? How and why? When my response is strictly on the topic, I feel there's no need to add any new tags, since the original ones fit perfectly. When I deviate a bit from the topic, I feel it would be rather impolite to add tags, kind of trying to high-jack the discussion from the initiator. My apologies if there's already a FAQ on this and I've missed it.

Hi NoWayRo. Welcome to mylot. The tag is just to find discussions easily. If you don't want to use them, it is fine. You can always skip and post the reply directly. I do tag the discussions most of the time, but it is not compulsory. Hope you enjoy your time here. Happy lotting

Hi devijay78 , Thank you for your answer, I'm currently testing both options (with and without tags in my answers) to see how it goes. In some cases seems to make sense to add tags, just to remind myself of what I wanted to discuss in the first place (sometimes I rant endlessly when I post an answer :) )

Hi NoWayRo! I'm sure you would enjoy lots of discussions here in myLot. There would be similarities in opinions as much as there would be differences. But it should all add up to an interesting and exciting lotting. Tags are just keywords or phrases to associate your discussion with. It's just an option. But I normally write something in as well. Anyway, Welcome to myLot!

Hi tomitomi, I like it here already, some of the topics are so challenging, got me thinking about a lot of things I haven't pondered in a while. I figured the tags are optional, and I've skipped them so far in my responses; just wanted to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong if I ever decide to use them.
