Will Too much Love Kill you?

I often hear this phrase but I don't really understand the passage quite well. If its love that drives a mother to care for her young child, it practically love that gives life.My mother cooked great dishes out of love... consequently my dad became obese and unhealthy. Because of glucose intolerance he became diabetic... eventually had a kidney failure and died. This all because of the love for food which was cooked out of love. This reasoning may sound ridiculous but its the only comparison I could think of. What do you think about this? Can too much love really kill you?

Hmm...I haven't really thought of this yet. Love can mean a lot of things. Be it a mother's love, a child's love for his toys, a man's love for his car so on and so forth. Now I'm interpreting the phrase as in a relationship kind of love. Well, if a man loves a woman too much, such that he's willing to give up his life, that's dangerous. When he loves her too much and it turns out that the lady actually has another boyfriend, the man will just take his life. Now this's what I call by too much love kills.

I think love will make us more happy. When you love someone very much, you can do everything for him. But if you aren't loved, I think you will feel very sad, and you can be stressful. Day by day, you have no energy to do anything because you always think about him. And it may kill you but you don't know!

I don't believe there is such a thingg as too much love. Love is a powerful feeling that can take us in so many different directions. i don't think too much love could kill us. Only the way we approach life and live it can do that for us.

always it is advised that you do it moderately, whether food intake, work, or love, or anything that we come across with.
the phrase is quite ironic yet its true. too much love can kill you.

its not necessarily that to much love will kill you, because without love no one will live in peace i mean your life is ruin... but for me yes!!,because everything that is to much to you, it will bear no good result its just like eating food..,when you eat to much food you'll come up in stomach ache.........so every thing in to much will really kill you, then if that is, give only enough, not to much.

When I read the title it reminds me of a song... too much love will kill you.
I think everything extreme is not good. anything too much will cause harm. Except for the LOVE of JESUS.
Too much love will not kill literally but I think it will harm you. It can lead to obsession or even hatred.
I am so sorry about your Dad.
