My husband and I usually take turns sleeping in on his days off. On Sundays he lets me sleep while he plays video games with the kids. As long as we have no plans he lets me sleep as late as I want. Usually I get up around 10 or 11.. but there's been a couple times I've slept as late as 1pm!
Wednesdays are hubby's other day off usually.. and that's the day I let him sleep. Usually I'll get him up by 11 if he's not up before then.
However, today is his birthday, and since he had to work last Wednesday and didn't get a day off all week.. he hasn't had a chance to sleep in in about 2 weeks. So today I'm going to do my best to late him sleep as long as he wants. It's almost 11 now.
How often do you get a chance to sleep in, and what's the latest you've ever slept in till? Do you give your spouse or partner a chance to sleep in.. and at what point would you wake them up if they aren't getting up on their own?

I think we view sleeping in differently LOL I am normally up anywhere from 3am to 5am so when I sleep till 5 I've slept in.
My husband normally sleeps in on the weekend but, again, he's up by 8 as opposed to 7 I always tease him that he's sleeping his day away.

Why are you up so early?
I'm not a morning person. I set my alarm for 6:45.. but the earliest I seem to ever get out of bed is 7:30. Now that I'm driving the kids to school I will usually stay in bed even longer, until like 8 or maybe 8:30. I try to sleep longer on Saturdays if the kids let me, but they usually don't.

I have no idea. I don't know anyone would want to be up that early; there's nothing on television, I think I've seen every netflix instant view, I read 4 or 5 books a week. I've tried sleeping pills and I wake up at the same time just sort of hung over feeling.

Hello kats, I love my sleep and could probably sleep all day if my family would let me. My husband on the other hand is different he always try to sleep in but it rarely happens and when he does it is usually just for an extra hour or so, if he sleeps past 9 he is happy. And once he is awake he can't fall back asleep, I on the other hand can fall asleep at any time, anywhere...I can get up and go throughout my day without a sleep and be fine but I still like my sleep...i normally try to let my husband sleep in in the mornings but he normally doesn't. During the week I get up at 6:30 with my son and then get my daughter up at 7 and by that time my husband is awake and while he may not be up out of bed he is still awake and then he is usually up out of bed by 7:30 and is soing his pushups and then jumps in the shower....I will either stay up or if I am still tired I will go back in and lay down till about 10 or 11 depending...the lasy few days I have been sick with a terrible head cold so I have been taking some meds and going back in to lay down for a bit. On the weekends we will sleep in but like I said before it is normally only until 9 or so for my husband and I can sleep till noon or so...

My hubby is a lot like you. He can sleep anywhere at anytime, doesn't matter. I love to sleep too.. but I usually have a hard time falling asleep. Once I am asleep it's hard to wake me up.. but I can't really nap unless I'm sick or exhausted just because of the amount of time it takes me to fall asleep. By the time I get to sleep it's pointless because I need to be up shortly there after for whatever reason.

I very rarely get a chance to sleep in. I can remember living at home sleeping till 11 or 12. The last few times I've had the chance to sleep in I ended up waking up by myself by 8 because I'm so used to getting up at that time. How sad is that? lol. My husband doesn't usually let me sleep in. The kids will get up and want him to get up and play with them but he'll ignore them long enough so that it wakes me up and then I can't get back to sleep. Every so often he'll let me sleep in. I think the latest I've slept to lately when I made it past 8 was like 11. It's good to get caught up on sleep missed over the week. Happy birthday to your husband!

He's pretty good about it.. on days he decides to let me sleep he gets up pretty quickly. Days when he wants to sleep, instead of telling me he wants sleep, he'll just keep ignoring the kids until I get frustrated with everyone, lol. Neither of us are morning people!

For me a sleep in is 6 in the morning, lol. The reason being is a medical problem which means I struggle to sleep and it’s usual for me to be up and about between 4 and 5 in the morning. I’ve tried lying in but it just doesn’t work so rather than waste the time I just get up and get on.
I do remember those far off days before I got this problem and on some days I could happily sleep in till 11, but those are just memories now. Fortunately being single means my nocturnal habits doesn’t affect anyone else, lol.

Aww, that's sad. I do love my sleep! I never used to.. back before all the kids I hated to sleep, felt like it was a waste of my time. Now I would spend a whole weekend sleeping if I wouldn't feel guilty about it later.

How late I am able to sleep in is highly corresponded with how late I stay up the night prior. That being said, there are times that I have slept until about 2 PM but typically on the nights prior to that I would say that I didn't go to bed until about 5 AM on average. The typical day that I sleep in I will usually wake up around noon. With having the kids here all the time, I need my beauty rest occasionally as they would say.

I usually get to sleep in a little on the weekends, though it's gotten to be rare that I sleep past 9. I did sleep until 11 last Saturday. R doesn't seem to want to sleep in (or can't), but he takes naps later...

I remembered sleeping the whole day...but that was when I drank the whole night until morning! LOL! I usually sleep late...as late as 3 am. But I get up as early as 6 a.m. for work. During weekends, I would want to get up as late as I can but I seem to have an alarm clock in body that when the clock strikes 7 or the latest time I ever got up was 9 a.m. Anyway, weekends are the only days I can do the household. :-)

well I don't have a fixed time to sleep, Right now I am not into anything other than using the internet. I usually sleep at anytime from 3 in night to 6 in the morning and get up anytime around 12 in the after noon to 4 in the evening. It just depends on when I sleep, Though sometimes when I have to go out for some work I do sleep around 4-5 hours and get up early in the morning. so sometimes I tend to sleep very less and at times I sleep more than required, the balance in sleeping time and sleep is missing in my life :D. So it does create problems sometimes. but fortunately I do get to sleep a lot :D. Don't know about the future when I will be working to earn. I am enjoying my free time right now only sleeping and sleeping :D

This is normally quite difficult as the lady above me is roaming about her flat in high heels very early in the morning! Now, I normally wouldn't have a problem with this but she has wooden floors and the noise is horrendus! I'm normally up around 6am every morning as a result of her callousness! It's nice to have a sleep in from time to time if you can manage it.
I think that Sundays is generally the best time to sleep in and then upon waking have a nice Sunday breakfast. As well as trying to sleep in I think it's nice to have the occasional nap throughout the day. This can be beneficial to your health I think, I'm sure that's right! Anyway, I try not to get to bed too late at night so it's very easy to wake up early in the mornings. Andrew

Currently, my latest record is 3am ++ . My earliest is 10 something. I wake up at about 9. The reason why I can sleep late is because I off my lights and my parents will think that I've slept. Then I can go on mylotting through the night until I'm tired.

I work late at night and have been doing so for a long time now.. so I am habituated to sleeping late some time at about 4am.. and hence I wake up late too.. at around 11am or 12pm.. so on the day I am not working I have to sleep early but I still wake up the usual time of 11am...
So at least once in a week I sleep for as long as I like...

No I can never sleep in because I have to get up to feed my puppy since they are a lot of work, and it's not so fun having to gt up so early every day. I have never really been a morning person, so I am mostly cranky most of the time complaining and just getting crankier and crankier. Now I know that I won't be able to sleep in unless I get my own place because my mom is not one to let me sleep the day away cause I have to help her with cleaning the house and cooking.Which I do not enjoy so much, but hey it has to be done.

I can sleep in the whole day if i want to, but i cant. My mom will be waking me if she thinks i'm sleeping for too long. I'm seriously lacking of sleep due to my work schedule. Whenever i have the chance to sleep in, i will make sure i get at least 18 hours straight! So far, i have only done it once because she's overseas then. Nobody to disturb me, and i'm sleeping from night to night! So nice!
