Multiple choices

Recently I was watching a movie "Mr Nobody" where the main hero was constantly facing situations where he had to make significant choices that determined his life path. But the fascinated point was that there was a multiple time dimensions and the hero was living a multiple life at the same time choosing different options. I am starting this discussion because I am interested to know more opinions about time dimensions and choices we make. Maybe it is inevitable that during the moment of choice we are in some particular mental,physical or emotional state that we can make only one particular choice and there are no multiple choosing? Do you agree with the scientific ideas that the same atom can be in two different places at the same time?
