Can someone explain to me how this could have happened?

My oldest daughter had an doctor's well check up appointment on the 28th of September. I knew the date of her appointment. I was even sent a confirmation to confirm my awareness of this appointment too. I confirmed her appointment through the automated prompt. And, today, my daughter went in for her appointment. My husband brought her back so fast to the apartment. I was like, why are you both back so fast? She was not seen at all. But today is the 29th, so how did I get yesterday mixed up with today? I knew that her appointment was scheduled on the 28th and I was thinking that today she had to go to her doctor. So now, she has to wait until November until she can be seen. Her doctor is booked all the way. I wished that I did not get my daughter's appointment date all mixed up. I feel so bad about this. I really do! I will keep checking back at her doctor to see if someone could have somehow canceled. I hope that they may do.

These things happen, sweetie. Don't beat yourself up about it. You are only human, you know. I am sure someone will cancel. Just relax, okay. TATA.

Hi. saphrina. Thanks for sticking up for me. It seems like his response was deleted. I don't see his comment on here at all. I guess myLot has seen whom is the spammer. I have seen where many people will leave comments that is not related to the post on many social networking sites. Many people will just pass them by and ignore them. I know that I would too. Thank you for warning this person, they know better than this!

cream do not be so hard on yourself, you are only human and humans do make errors. look at me. a few years back I got up knowing I had an appointment at the physical therapy place on thursday . So I r ushed through my breakfast and was just about to change clothes when the little access bus honked for me. my son ran out to tell the driver I was coming. so we get out onto the street and they are doing road work. single file for ten blocks we drove, then I got there fifteen minute late. i signed in and wondered why the receptionist was giving me an odd look. I said, sorry I am fifteen minute late. she laughed and said no no you are a day early.I did not believe her so took out the appointment card and sure enough ten am on Friday.oh my g. I had to call access to have a bus pick me up and take me back home..

Hi Cream/Hatley, I think when someone is busy and have a lot of thing to think, this kind of situation might happen. I have few time got the time wrong for attending my tuition class when I was still in school. At that time, I have so many activities to attend in a week, and when I am tired and still need to attend some of the tuition class, I got confused and get the time wrong, I was there in the morning were it supposed to be in the afternoon. And sometime I was late to be there and the class have finished. You can imagine how I was when I went to the empty class and still trying to figuring out where are all others students. LOL

Don't kick yourself too hard, Cream. We've all done things like that. It's called having a lot to remember and a lot to do. I can't even tell you how many times I've nearly forgotten an appointment or walked in a day early and a few times...yes...a day late. Hopefully someone will cancel out before november and you will get in a little earlier. If not, it will all work out.

Hi, SInce it has happened, nothing can be changed and just hope this kind of thing won't happen again in future. Probably you are too busy and mixed up all the dates..it can be happened to human being. Not to worry. SOmetimes, I don't even know what is the date of today and I have to look at my mobile, then only I know another month has passed and time flies so fast. You can always set a reminder in your mobile,to keep you more updated on certain important appointment. That is what I am doing always.

I know how you feel. It has also happened to me before. I felt so guilty that time since it was for my pre- natal check- up for my eldest son. I was so worried at the same time since it's the 37th week of my pregnancy. Good thing my Doctor was able to squeeze me in with her schedule. I swear to my self starting that day I'd take Doctor's appointment seriously. I hope the Doctor would be able to squeeze your daughter in with her/ his other appointments. Don't feel that bad. It happens sometimes. As a Mother and wife we always have a lot of things going on in our mind. A lot of things we have to worry about. We are Moms you know but definitely not a Superwoman. :) Have a nice day!

It happens all the time. You just lose track of the days sometimes. At least once a week someone says to me something like "today's Thursday, right?" and it's actually Wednesday or Friday. Or I'll have a customer go to write out a check and they'll say "Today's the 23rd?" and it's the 24th. When we're in school, we write the date on everything. All the papers we turn in, all the tests we take, name and date are at the top of the page. But think about it, in your adult life, how often do you find yourself writing down the days date? When you write a check? If you write a letter? That's really about it. We think less in terms of the actual date and more in terms of what day of the week it is.

Accidents happen. Don't feel so bad about getting the appointment mixed up. I understand, we all make mistakes. Anyway you should keep checking the doctors because their could be a cancellation.

happens to the best of us cream... don't be so hard on yourself. if it really matters, go to another doctor but make sure to bring your daughter's medical records. that might help. otherwise, wait until november to have your daughter checked-up again. cheers!

It does happen that sometimes we make mistakes. We all make mistakes at one point or another. This could happen to anybody. It's not your fault.

Maybe someone at the doctor's side mistakenly cancelled it.

Hi cream, Sometimes our brain plays tricks on us. I have missed important appointments and even a concert because I remembered the day wrongly. To think that I went all the way to collect the tickets for it, then missing it. It's good that you keep checking with the doctor, there might be a cancelled appointment somewhere. Remember to monitor your daughter's condition closely.

Cream97- I think things like this happen to everyone, one reason is because we all are so busy these days, trying to make ends meet and just get through everyday. I have 3 calendars and I still mess up dates sometimes and then have to reschedule things all of the time, so infuriating.

Keep checking. Sometimes doctors get cancellations and can fit you in. Good luck!

Maybe in the future you and your husband need to work together to make sure you don't do this again. Is it old age? haha? I have done this before. Life seems to get in the way and you just forget. I get dates mixed up a lot more often than I would like to admit here. Have to do the best we can.
