I would really like to go to Finland, the roots on both sides of my family tree, and would like to now what are the best places to go and things to see. I love architecture, nature (I love taking pictures) and of course, shopping. Any suggestions?

I have heard that they have that in Alaska. I had no idea that the situation also occurs in Finland. Most be something common to countries on the northern most part of the Earth. I would love to experience that. Does that only happen for a couple of days a year or for weeks at a time?

I worked in Finland as a children's nanny when I was 18 years old. The family had three houses: a town house, a country cottage and a log cabin by a lake. I loved it when I visited the capital city, Helsinki. It has some amazing architecture. I also liked the countryside with its many lakes. Taking a sorna and then getting into a cool lake is an experience worth doing. I remember going to a lovely looking forest and I enjoyed seeing the trees. On my way home I visited many other countries and liked Sweden a lot. That is next to Finland and well worth seeing.
