Hi, mylotters.
Nowadays, it's not only women who cook and prepare foods for their family, but also men.
Well, do you often cook at home, and are you good at it?
I like cooking, though I'm not good at it. I'm a green hand right now. But I enjoy it. Every time I make something delicious for both my boyfriend and myself, I feel so happy. That's why I want to learn more and wish someday I'll be a good cook.
Have a nice day.

Yes I often cook at home because it's my responsibility.. Hmm am I good at it? I think so.. Because when I compare my cooking with the cooking my sister or others make, I would prefer my cooking more.. But not all that I cook tastes awesome.. There are some menus that my sister is good at, then some are mine..
But you know, I think my husband cooks better than me.. He cooked our viand for this afternoon and we liked it very much.. But if he has work, he always ask if I was the one who cooked the meal, and if yes, he will definitely eat more compared to how much he eats if I wasn't the one who cooked the food..
I also want to learn more,.And I just hope I have all the access.. But you see, in my case, I cook within a budget, so it's kind of limited also.. But even if it's like that, I still cook delicious meals.

I cook at home a lot. It is something that i enjoy doing and not something i have to do. I do enjoy dining out occasionally, but it is not a must. I learned to cook as a teenager and have been doing it ever since. i have had jobs where cooking was required as well. i am happy with my cooking abilities. i haven;t had any complaints yet.

Yes, I agree that not only women prepare foods for their family. I myself prepare food for my wife and I'm happy when my wife recognized it. I am not good in cooking and I learn it when I try to work overseas that I need to prepare for my survival. Eating outside is not advisable and very expensive. Now, most of the time we cook together, and this is one of the bonding moments with my wife

I think a wife will fell so happy that her husband cook food for her. Sometimes my boyfriend will cook together with me. And I'm so glad he does it. :)
I agree with you that eating outside is expensive and not advisable for most people. I prefer eating at home.

It just takes years of practice + trial and error to figure out how to make your favorite foods to your liking. I would also recommend looking for recipes that are rated w/ comments as those are nice because odds are it's a good recipe and the comments people sometimes put in substitutions for things if you are on a budget or have health concerns.

Hello,
When my children were around it was like 5 days out of 7 I would make honme cook meals. Now that they are gone it way less. It is not easy cooking for one person.
I try to do two portions and save one for lucnh the next day or or for dinner.
When I am with my boyfriend too and he likes to cook as well so we swap the duties when I am there. he is good cook. He thinks he is not but I do!
Thanks and have a great day
Sincerely Unique16

hello banban,
i can cook but i can't say i am good at it. though i can see my family enjoying some of my cooked foods for them. it's nice to cook for your family and hope i could learn more to cook deliciously.
actually,i was hoping to meet a guy who is good at cooking so that i could learn from him. but i guess it would take long time before i meet the man,so i'd rather find a way for me to learn myself. but i still am hoping that someday i sould meet a guy who can cook deliciously and hope he is the one i will be spending the rest of my life with.as they say,a way to man's heart is through his stomach...well,i can say,it can go reversely...

Before getting married, I don't cook that much, either we eat at my parent's place or we just go out. But after getting married, I found it weird to not cook at all, so I try to learn to cook by myself. So far, my husband and my siblings (who visits us often) loves the food i prepare them. I am planning to learn more food recipes and soon learn to bake as well
good luck and have fun cooking!

We don't normally eat out unless there's an occasion to celebrate so most of our meal time are at home. I am one of the cooks in my house right now, apart from my mother. I don't say I'm that good in preparing meals but so far no ones have food poisoning from eating my food, which I must say that it's a great achievement XD But I am still learning and improving. Have a nice day to you too!

Yes cooking is something I also enjoy. Sometimes I'm in a hurry so I just prepare something simple, but when I have some time I love to invent my own dinner. nothing strange but combining things I already know how to prepare. My GF doesn't cook at all so she loves when I do it. It's a nice treat for here because I take my time and effort so is like a present. My mother is the best cook Ive ever know.. she did't study but she prepares amazing things

I cook at home at least once a day. I make sure I have the time to cook. (I'm a guy by the way. I live with my girlfriend who also cooks as much as I do.) I'd like to think I'm good at cooking, but since I'm self-taught, I know I still have more to learn. My girlfriend and I cook and enjoy meals together. It's very satisfying when the person you love likes your cooking!

I started learning to cook when I was about 9 years old by my god-mother. I love food, such a passion of mine. I try to cook as often as possible. It is not hard to cook at all, if you can read a recipe, you can do wonderful things in the kitchen. I cooked home cooked meals for my child and her father all last week, it was very rewarding. Good luck and remember, yo can never learn enough with cooking!

Well now I am going to shock you! My mother used to be a professional chef until she damaged one of her hands in a small accident when I was 9. She teach me everything she knew and I was cooking for the house for for a year every day. When I left my home to study abroad I lived in a house with other 6 people and we often had dinner parties with 30-40 people where I was also responsible to cook. I learned recipes from all around the world. I love to cook, but I admit I enjoy more when my girlfriend nurtures me and cooks something delicious (very rarely :P) it really makes me feel proud and is a loveable thing to enjoy a good meal from the one you love.

I love cooking,it frustrates me whenever my father-in-law gives lecture whenever I cook meat. he always said that it is bad for our health. Too much fat, cholesterol. Sodium. I can cause cancer and every bad stuff. He is not vegetarian though. I only meat especially pork and beef 2-3 times a month. Even though he gives a lecture on that I will still cook. Especially Pork and Chicken adobo!!! I am not that good but me Mom is and my relatives maybe it runs in the blood? :)

I love to cook, so I cook as often as possible. I cook at least once a day. I'm a very good cook, whether I'm just doing something simple or something elaborate. I personally find that cooking helps relax me when I've had a bad day, as well.
I have to say though, as much as I love to cook, I would never say no if my significant other decided to cook dinner for me.

When I was married my husband did most of the cooking. I could cook and I am really good at it, it was just he enjoyed it so much I hated taking it away from him, especially on the weekends. On the weekends he would spend almost all day Sunday cooking things and baking too.
I am a good cook and have been cooking since I was about 10 years old and I am now 54 years old. I am no longer married and my adult daughter and I live together so I am cooking again almost every day. My daughter cooks too but she rather bake and I would rather cook than bake so it works out good for us.
I don't cook every day because I don't want to eat a big meal every day anyways. Some days I may only have a bowl of soup or a sandwich. Right now it is 8pm and I haven't had dinner yet because I am at home alone and I don't know what I want so until I know what I want I will wait.
I think cooking is very easy but I guess I can say that because I have been cooking for a lot of years. I think the best way to learn how to cook is by recipe. Just make sure when you are using a recipe that you follow it exactly at first till you learn what the consistancy is going to be before you start to substitute things and make it your own recipe.
Start with some simple recipe and then change it up some the next time you make it. Substitute things with things you like better. Add things like spices to change the flavour. Experiment with things.
Cheers my friend and happy mylotting,
Chris

Just keep at it the more you do it the better you will get. I cook 6 out of 7 days of the week for dinner. I do consider myself to be pretty good at it. I can make just about anything and I have a natural talent for matching up ingredients that go well together. I enjoy cooking, I wish I had someone to clean up after me though because I hate that part.

I do love cooking. I cook most nights and enjoy it. I just invented a successful, tasty recipe using leftovers from two different meals. That seldom works for me, but this time it did and I'm glad, because I thought I'd have to throw my efforts out. So, tonight it will be leftover leftovers for dinner, because I can't freeze the dish.

I really love cooking. Kidding aside, I learned how to cook when I was still in grade school. I was 10 years old then. Since my mom was working at that time and I am the eldest and the only daughter, I always cook for my brothers after school time. I started from frying to simple chicken dishes and now, I can say that I am good at it. I also learned new techniques from my sisters-in-law. Their secret was to put a little bit of sugar in every dishes they are cooking. Now it's not a secret anymore..^_^
