i went to the department store this morning to buy clothes for my baby and im irritated by their sales staff there because anywhere i go she follow me. I cannot concentrate on choosing the right size and the nice shirt for my son Does it happen to you? you go on shopping then the sales lady following you like you will steal something from the store.

That's the main reason why i hate to go shopping alone. I don't like being followed by a sales staff. I don't really take it as if they see me as someone whose going to steal something, i guess it's the staff's way of providing good customer service. If i can't avoid it, i usually tell the staff to just let me check other stuffs and i'll just call her attention with i need it. What's really annoying is when you want something like a different size and there's no one to assist you.

yep, it's annoying , it's either i walk out of the store and buy nothing, or i tell it to the sales staff in a neutral tone of voice yet a polite way, to stop following me and that i'll jsut call for his/her assistance if i need it. thank you.

i think they follow you to make sure that whenever you need them, you don't need to look for her/him anymore. if it bothers you, you should have just politely told the sales staff to not follow you and you'll just get his/her attention if you need help.

Could she of been on commission? I know alot of clerks that are on commission will follow you around til you get buy something or annoyed and leave. Though my hubby sometimes enjoys jerking those type of clerks around for fun.

Yes, I've experienced that too. Well, it happens all the time and eventually got used to their working style. Probably they didn't have a lot of customers to attend to.
