In recent past both processor field and operating systems have been developing a lot. there are multi core processors and 64 bit OS. i feel that now a days processors have gone so far ahead and Os have not grown effectively to use the proccesing resource, do you feel such gap? even though many new version of OS are releasing more frequently, still i think that processor is a little ahead. what is your opinion?

since it was have relation 1 to each other, so ideally it must be balance, processor as a brain needs tools for receive input command from brainware, so it can works well, thats OS but now, from my opinion, microprocessor developer is 1 step ahead than OS developer. the most obviously is in linux environment, still need configuring or compiling new kernel. this could be happen if the latest hardware including processor that we use works on old OS (1 step behind processor family)

ya exactly, thats what i tried to express. what is the use in improving the processor platform in a good pace and leaving back the os a step behind?

lolz..... yeah, but it back on our as a user. hardware developer look us as a thirsty consumer who need "monster" to support their computing activity, who needs pure 4 cores in 1 die if its just for home user? gamers? so y we must pay lot of money just for gaming? lolz... if user hardware request not high as we can see now, computer hardware not grow as we can see now. in my opinion the vital part of computer systems is hardware, because we still can build or repair the software, but if the problem is hardware, its really hard to resolve, maybe thats 1 factor why processor developer is 1 step ahead than OS developer

ya that may be a reason for the one step forward in the processor field. but we may buy the same processor for cheap price when the software for the same processor will be developed.

Hardware and Software is the two important part of a computer.hardware is the mechanical parts of a computer and Software is a collection of programs that operate the computer and help the user to do productive work. The working of hardware require a set of software. The above,Processor come from the Hardware and operating system from software. If the technology of a processor developing very faster than operating system ,in this case we cannot able to use new technological features of processors ,that technology will waste or these technology will be using after some years. Some years before the condition is OK ,I thing now these two technologies almost developing together.

it seems that the software and hardware are developing with same pace, but i belive that hardware is moving a bit faster.

I think the current operating system is suffisticated enough for us. But, developer can still optimize and improve the processor, not only speed and ability, but also form and electricity consumtion. Even Windows XP which has been here for almost ten years are still widely accepted, so why bother making another operating system just yet?

as the processor (hardware) improves, its equally necessary for the operating sytem to deveop also. otherwise the development on the field of processors will be a waste. so operating system should develop with the processors
