First of all, I just want to tell everyone that has breast cancer or has a family member or friend battling this terrible disease, that I understand what you are going through. Some are worse than others, but I pray that whatever your diagnoses is, that you somehow find uplifting courage in your day to day life to keep on keepin' on!
My mother was first diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2007. She found a lump while doing a breast self examination. She went to the doctor and come to find out, the lump that she felt was not the cancerous lump. The cancerous lump was actually deep in the tissue, in a place where she never would have felt it. I thank God for that benign lump, because who knows when or if that cancerous lump would have been found.
She went into remission for about a year and then the cancer returned in July 2009. This time it returned in her bones as stage 4 terminal cancer. Since then, she has gone through radiation and chemotherapy. Currently, she is undergoing chemo weekly until the doctor sees the results he wants to see.
I have watched the strongest person I know, be broken down into this weak, fragile person. It is truly heartbreaking to watch a loved one go through such a terrible thing.
I pray everyday that it will go into remission for a very long time so that her body can heal and she can become the strong woman that she once was!
