it's not a FACT, it's not a STATEMENT of FACT, and it's not necessarily any other thing that I could think of...it's an original idea from the mind of the one who's writing it... why the heckkkk are some people trying to correct an opinion???? Every opinion is neither wrong nor right...so no one has the right to correct it, BUT everyone has the freedom and choice to disagree with it. RIGHT????? or WRONG???? alright happy mylotting everyone. =p

I think an opinion can be discussed, it can be challenged, but we cannot insult someone because his opinion or thinking is different from ours. We cannot insist that someone change their opinion to agree with ours. Everyone has a right to their opinion regardless of whether we agree or not. Live and live and let God do what He has to do!

yes, opinions can be discussed, in fact that's what mylot is all about in the first place... but whether at the end of discussion we get converted or not, the important thing is that we learned something new from the other person, and gain some understanding why the person thinks that way.... but i find it really distasteful, annoying, disrespectful when other people SOUND as if they're correcting MY OPINION, and make me want to change it according to theirs .. I think that's very wrong. it's enough that we give reasons why we give such opinions, but we DONT force or shove beliefs at anybody's face.

I couldn't agree with you more and I purposely stay away from some discussions like those that are politically oriented for that reason. Oftentimes when people post, they are only looking for people to agree with them not to open their minds up to a different point of view. I have seen posts where people have been personally attacked for expressing their opinions.

yeah same here, i'd rather stay away from such discussions than give myself frustration... lol. in real life, sometimes i'd rather keep my mouth shut than to voice what i think of, unless necessary of course, just to keep the peace within a group....sometimes i disagree with them but i don't tell it to them, because i know they'll only try to convert me into their way of thinking because they don't approve for others to disagree with them!! i think they're sooo lame.

Sounds like you've had quite an experience! Some people are just passionate about their own opinions that they can't stand to see others. And they try to impose their wills unto others while in the meantime keeping blind to the obvious that it's just an opinion.

I have been puzzled by this as well, as when a member posts a discussion it is not specifically intended to have only those that agree that are the only ones that should respond. However you also have members who mis-interpret a response then get all upset and it because a battle instead of an actual discussion. There is a veteran myLot member who a few months ago had a similar run in, and every time I see a feuding discussion it reminds me of what she posted. She had specifically posted that members who are this way should perhaps post only respond if you fully agree with. LOL..as after reading the discussion she was referring to she was actually correct, as the initial poster listed what do you think about this? Then went all psycho upset telling people to leave her alone and why they were ganging up on her. So you see when people with difference of opinions get together all heck breaks loose.

you have a point there - some mylotters here experience misinterpretation (which results to misunderstanding) , due to the language barrier or cultural differences. LoL, i would really be irritated if I ever come across to that girl's post that you are talking about LoL.... I think if a person doesn't agree with us, it's enough that we explain our point and why we say our opinions so, but then we're not really require any explanations here... oh well... but it would be good to know that you're heard out, not necessarily understood or agreed with, just heard out....

One must read a discussion well before putting his/her views, he/she may agree or disagree, we are free to share in a decent manner, so as not to hurt any body thanks for this post, cheers kalyani
