I think honesty is the most imporatant quality in anyone. Of course a president has to be very intelligent to.

Most important quality I think is its leadership quality. How he lead in front. In India, Indian president have no power except signing documents.

I think a presidents qualities should be centered around being independent of influence. That means that he or she makes decisions according to how he or she feels and not by the influence of corporations, special interest groups, or other politicians. I guess you could call this an "independence" quality (if that makes any sense). I don't think this is how most presidents operate however. They may have their own ideas and policies that they want to share but their power is limited by groups. Most of their decisions are not independent decisions and they are controlled in regards to what policies they can or can't support.
