Why do we have both? I know the rules are a bit different, but the concept is still the same isn't it? A glorified talent show...I wonder if there are people out there who actually look at both? Why? Haven't we had enough of looking at folks who sware up and down that they can sing?
What's your take on the subject?

American Idol is more for finding people who will make albums and do concert tours. Well supposedly. I don't think any of their recent winners have been doing so well music-career-wise.
America's Got Talent is looking for someone who can do Vegas acts all year long gig type things. Both pay well. Vegas is a little more stable I think when you get into the game of it. In the music business, the payoff is great but unstable and it is a very high maintenance career. Least that's my opinion.
Your a pastor? Cool! My dad's one too! Anyway very nice topic, pastor. +!

I prefer America's Got Talent. Atleast with this show there's some variety beyond people singing.... it's more of an anything goes kind of talent show. I think on Idol people who can't sing are more than happy to try to look bad on national tv to say they were on tv or in hopes of being the next William Hung if they don't have talent.
