I was recently shopping for twin size blankets at a popular retail supper store and it cost $12.99 for a fleece throw blanket I dont know about you all but thats pretty steep to me, and here's the kicker just a few months back I paid only $9.00 for a standard twin size throw at the same store. Needless to say I had to pass on those blankets even though really wanted them, anyway do you think that price are getting crazier even for the cheapest items, and do you have any good suggestions of where to buy this sort of item for less??

Apples99, what DOESN'T cost a fortune nowadays? Seriously, everything is so expensive these days. The price on coffee went up a few days or weeks ago, and that mad me angry. I don't like paying $5 for coffee. That's ridiculous. Also, I have had to pay way more than $13.00 for twin size blankets. Your getting a good deal if you only have to pay $12.99.

I can never find a throw blanket for $9.99, and I can't find one for less then $13.00.

You have a good point there most things these days seem to have sky rocketed in price, but my idea of a good deal is more like $9.99 after all this is only twin blanket I'm taking about not a king or queen size blanket, besides my budget is pretty tight.

I have bought several twin fleece blankets not to sleep with but to use when I'm on the couch watching tv or just in my computer chair cold. I purchased them a while ago on sale and they cost me $5 to $10, good quality. I got them at Khol's and Macys. Now, the prices probably increased because it is getting colder and closer to winter. Once winter is over, you should buy a bunch on sale and keep them for next year :)

Things are getting quite expensive lately and the quality is decreasing. A few years ago I bought an electric blanket for my queen size bed. It worked for one winter and then the next year when I tried to use it, it didn't work. It cost 80 bucks! I can't afford to buy a new one every year, so I have the non-functioning electric blanket on my bed with a bedspread over it. Then when it gets really cold, I have flannel jammies and a fleece personal size blanket that my nieces made for me for Christmas last year. I was plenty warm last winter!

Oh my $80 dollars and then it broke goodness sorry thats the pits but at least you still have the blanket your daughter made for the holidays. My current blanket is looking bit shabby and I'm redecorating my bedroom, so I figured may as well, also buy some nice throws for my bedroom too but my bubble burst when I went to the store and found out how much they cost at my local supper store.

Well, I think its because the weather is getting colder. In the warmer months, things like sweaters and blankets go on sale, but durring the colder months, the same item become really expensive. Thats probably why some shoppers do shopping for certain things at of season to get a good price...Thats just what I think.

Yeah you have a point there but I still think 12.99 is bit high for just a standard fleece blanket I mean jeepers give me a brake lol.

hiya apples, Could agree with you on that. A lot of things like bedspreads have become something of a luxury. They no longer make ordinary bedspreads or blankets they have decided to make them a bit fancier and slap a huge price ticket on it. An ordinary blanket here say the three striped ones cost around the same price you are giving there nine or ten Dollars a time. Dressing Gowns have gone the same way I have seen prices of up to 90 Euros just for an ordinary Dressing Gown nothing special and pretty awful come to think of it. One or two place still around here where you can get a decent buy but not many and they are way out so you have to go by Car like it or not. No Buses will take you right there.

Nowadays, most items are outrageously priced. Sometimes, they're not even worth it. You have to be patient on looking through sales.

Oh absolutely they are expensive, i would really like to get my kids both new sheets and comforter sets for their beds because they are getting a little older and the superman and bratz bedding that they have are getting a little outdated for them and I would like to just go with one solid color for them maybe a purple or pink for my daughter and a blue or green for my son that way they can use them for a few years or so and not have to worry about outgrowing the style or character that are on them...if I were to buy the sheets and comforters for both kids I am looking around $100 and that is just crazy to me but I know that i am soon going to have to do it because they are getting older and need them. I wish i knew some place cheaper to suggest for you but the only place that I really know of is maybe a place like Walmart or Kmart...best of luck to you!!
