How is everybody doing these days? I would like for youall to check out the pictures I made of my new horse, Mamma, on my profile. I uploaded these last night. This is also her in my avatar. I made some of these pictures with my digital camera and I made the others with my cell phone. The one in my avatar is from my cell phone. I don't feel like the ones I made with my digital camera are that good because I'm still trying to learn how to use it, lol! They look blurry to me for some reason. I've had Mamma for two weeks but I still haven't ridden her yet because I've been sick with urinary tract infections twice and I've had a time getting adjusted to my antibiotics. Also, I've had a sore throat for several days and I'm trying to wait till I get better before I try her. Even though I'm an experienced rider, I'm still a little bit leery about getting on a new horse for the first time and since I live alone, I would like for somebody to be here to watch me when I ride her for the first time to make sure everything's going to be all right. I remember daddy used to always want to watch me before I rode a particular horse for the first time. The man I got her from said she's very gentle and he also said that if I can ride the horse that I ride out at the therapeutic riding center, I should be able to ride this one. I think she's going to be a very good horse snd it's not that I don't believe him. However, I still like to be on the safe side. I've been hurt by horses in the past and I think it pays to be careful. I hope youall enjoy the pictures.

Yes, I'm aware we still have to get to know each other. I didn't buy her. I traded a stallion I had for her because the stallion was a little too unpredictable. The reason why I didn't try her out when the men first brought her was because I had a beauty shop appointment that day and I didn't have much time. I don't know if that makes sense or not. Like I said, I was having problems with urinary tract infections back then and I still am and I wanted to wait till I got to feeling better before I rode her. I also felt like she needed time to get adjusted to me and her new surroundings.

I bet you have a beautiful collection! My nephew used to collect model horses like this. I just have one Breyer Horse on my dresser in my bedroom. He's a Tennessee Walking Horse, though, and I'm riding Quarter Horses these days. I got the Breyer when I was riding Tennessee Walkers. His name is "Midnight Sun".

Oh dear, it made me feel sad I no longer have a horse :( She looks quite small next to the gate? Perhaps it is a big gate.
all the best urban

Are you sure you're looking at the right horse? The one behind the gate is the stallion I traded for this mare. I was kind of confused because I knew that I didn't have Mamma near a gate when I made her pictures. Actually, that stallion was bigger than he looked in the picture. I do have some better pictures of him on my profile. Did you not see them? When I first uploaded this picture, I was learning how to do it (upload pictures) and still am pretty much and I didn't know what I was doing. I used this picture as my avatar for a long time. His name was "Cyrus". I named him after my favorite country music singer, Billy Ray Cyrus, lol! Since I don't have this horse any more, I probably need to take this picture out. I thought I would just leave it on my profile since I like horses so much, though. All the other pictures are of Mamma.

A horse bit me once. I was walking along minding my own business and the neighbor's horse snuck up behind me and tried to take a big chunk out of my shoulder. That was ouchers. I thought s/he was on the other side of the fence. Oh, well.
I have been out of town a LOT this year, so there are about 150 mylot notices in my box that I just cannot seem to get through...a real backlog, and I fear that I must go travel some more before finishing, so when I get back there will be MORE! Stay well and safe.

Welcome back! I never fed a horse, but maybe somebody else was in the habit of feeding the one who snuck up on me. It was a huge horse. I do not know how it was able to come up so quietly behind me, but I was 20-something and had my head in the clouds.

I've been bitten by horses a few times in my life. Cyrus, the horse I traded for Mamma, bit me pretty hard on the arm one time when he was still just a foal! It really hurts, too! Foals are bad to do that, though. If you hand feed a horse a lot, they will become biters, especially stallions. That might have been the reason why that horse bit you. That's just a guess, though.
I've been away from mylot for a while, myself. However, I got to missing it and I decided to come back.

It's always wise to be cautious the first time you ride a new horse. Did you ride her before you bought her? That's always a good way to find out if the horse and you will make a good connection and then riding for the first time won't be quite as intimidating. But wish you luck and happy rides. I love my horses and enjoy them so much. I always have so much fun with them even if I don't ride all the time.

I agree with you. However, I didn't buy her. I had a stallion that my nephew had given me when he (the stallion) was 3 years old. He turned out to be too unpredictable so my nephew traded him out for me for a mare. I still haven't ridden her yet but I talked to my nephew on the phone last week and he said he would come out one day this week to watch me ride if he didn't have to go anywhere (he flies a small plane and he flies people different places as his job). The man I got her from said she would qualify as a therapy horse and he said if I could ride the horse that I ride at the therapeutic riding center where I volunteer that should be able to ride this horse. Still, I think it's better if somebody watch me ride the first I ride her. I remember daddy always wanted to watch me the first time I rode any different horse.

Hey Maam(uncle in Indian language), Mamma is marvelous, but her picture is very tiny in your profile. I love and admire horse race, but I dont bet, however hope to see you riding mamma soon.
