I have a funny story would like to tell youall about my horse, Mamma. At least I think it's funny, anyway, and I think those of you who like Elvis Presley are going to get a kick out of it. When I first got Mamma, I went out to feed her that day and she just wouldn't walk up to me. I had to carry the feed out to her. She didn't seem like she knew whether to trust me or not the first few days. However, she getting more used to me the more I feed her, fool with her, etc. I also had my little dog, Prissy, with me on a leash and she had to get used to her as well. When I first gave her the feed, she was kind of hesitant about it. She was like, "Should I eat that?" She finally did eat it, though. When she finished eatting, I got the bucket and she tried to follow me a little bit. As I said earlier, she didn't seem like she trusted me to begin with. I kept saying things like "That's okay", Come on", etc. At one point, I said "That's all right, Mamma"! I thought to myself, where have I heard that phrase before, lol? I happened to remember it was the name of an old Elvis song and I just laughed to myself! Have any of youall ever repeated phrases to yourself and wondered where it was you'd heard it?

Anytime anyone talks about Oliver, I want to sing or hear the "Who will buy?" song. That is the most beautiful song to me.

Oh, I sing a lot, or at least I used to. Most everything gets transposed to the Twinkle Twinkle song (aka variations on a theme from Mozart) because I worked in a preschool for seven years. We piggybacked everything to that tune. I wonder if you would sing it to Mamma if it would mean anything to her. Like maybe a previous owner sang it? You should try.

I didn't sing it to her but I just might do it next time, lol! I didn't think to ask the man I got her from why they named her Mamma. I assumed she might have been bossy at one time. Horses can boss other horses sometimes. It's possible she might have had a lot of foals in her lifetime. Maybe they just started calling her that and it just stuck. I also thought about the song "Crazy Mamma", if you remember that one, from back in the 70s. I hope she's not crazy, though.

Thank you, AmbiePam! I don't blame you for not wanting to put it on mylot if it's too embarassing to repeat. I wish some other mylotters would be the same way. That's why I quit mylot for a while. I hope mylot doesn't delete my comment but it seems there are some mylotters on here who don't care what they say or what kind of discussions they start.

I am a HUGE Elvis fan & have been since i was about 13 or 14. I hope u & your new horse get to be good friends like u were w/cyrus. I think u are smart to wait & ride her when someone is there. Hope it goes real well for u both. Happy weekend to u.

Another reason why I haven't ridden her yet is because I've had a sore throat here lately. Also, I've had a time with urinary tract infections and I've had so many allergic reactions to different antibiotics. My doctor has put me on Omnicef now and that seems to be helping me a lot. I'm some better now.

I'm doing okay, I guess. I've just had to deal with a lot of UTIs here lately and I've had a time getting adjusted to my antibiotics. I've had so many allergic reactions to different ones. The last antibiotic the doctor put me on didn't hurt me and I was better for about a week. Then, I started having problems again yesterday while I was at the beauty shop of all places! I haven't had any problems today, though, so I hope I'm better. I had a lot of nausea and diarrhea with my UTIs. These were also some of the side effects of some of the medicines I took. I also had tingly skin, dizziness, etc.
