Do you agree with the CBCP on excommunicating P-Noy if the government will push thru with the plan to distribute contraceptives to couples?

It must be a tough decision for pnoy to make. We are all aware that the catholic church play a big role in his winning the elections. With the way things are going it appears to me that the church is pressuring pnoy to adhere to thier wishes. More like it's payback time. I recall the same scenario where the president has turned down the request of INC to appoint someone in a high government position because the president thought that there are more qualified candidates, the INC threatened to withdraw their support because of it (i'm sure if this has really transpired since i only came across that topic here in mylot) but i can't help but get annoyed with INC because it clearly showed that they supported pnoy to protect their own interest. Now it seems that it's exactly the same thing with the catholic church but i won't be surprised about it because the church had been clear about their stand on contraception since the very beginning. It's clear in our constitution that there should be a separation between the church and the state. The church is doing what it can to protect what it think is right. On the other hand the president has a duty to do things for the betterment of the majority of the people. What is happening now is a case of "damn if you do, damn if you don't". But i guess, it's a fact that it's impossible to please everyone so i hope the president's decision, what it might be, will bear positive results so that he may receive a lot of flak at the beginning, but end up getting praised for it in the times to come.
