Why do you think America has such a big cultural influence on other countries?

Since there are a lot of people from different countries on here, I'm just wondering why America has such a big cultural influence on the rest of the world. I mean, the fact that an American started the internet is a huge part of it, but then I'm talking about sites like Facebook, Youtube, Myspace, Google, which are all American products and used the world over.
However, none of these things are tangible. America is very much hinged on service industry and the "creating nothing tangible" industry, which is probably the reason for the collapse of Wall Street--because they were playing with money and gambling and in the end, all of it was air. The richest people in our country are actors and talk show hosts--professional liars, basically.

Your country is a world power, a country you shouldn't mess with and it's an imperialist nation. Back in the day, America wanted land it ventured out and try to steal people's land. The reason why these are popular among other countries is because they're in English. If they are not in English, you are limited to a few audience. English is used worldwide, that is why they like them because they can understand it. Another thing is they like the American accent because it is something different from theirs.

I really think that the answer is corporations. Holding capitalism in high regard means that Americans suffer from companies that become bigger and bigger, driven by nothing but the search for profits. When there is nothing left in America to cannibalize, those huge corporations must move to other countries, where their job is to convince others that they want-- NEED -- the American products. To do that they indoctrinate young people in other countries with American attitudes and values.

Well, I don't mean to be prideful, but America is awesome!
You can actually make something of yourself in this country, if you work at it and know how to play the game. We have awesome music, awesome sports, comic books and graphic novels that are really awesome, we have Hollywood, and we are a total melting pot. We have everything here in America. We import and export many goods from country to another. There is so much that people can do here.
We aren't the greatest country in the world, but we are a lot better than some countries.

because of the amount opportunities and freedom Americans like my self have. were not slaves of our government nor do we fear our government because of some tyrant that's running it. the ideas and freedom of expression that Americans can come up with can lead to many things.
