We were transporting my son to another facility in Louisiana. We stopped to get some gas and these guys came over to the van and showed them a nice digital video recorder. He only wanted about 50 dollars for it. The camera looked real and in fact was. But when they dug up the money... (I didn't like the feeling myself) he had switched it out with a dummy model and disappeared. Some guy came over and told us the other man had been scamming people all day with the same camera... I felt bad for them for falling for it... ever been scammed that bad?

Oh gosh this reminded me of a family member who was approached in a grocery store parking lot and was enticed into buy a huge TV as the person had several in his van and one on display. So for $100 buck he got my cousin to buy it. It was new and in the box right well as they lugged the huge box into their house and opened it. It was a box full of bricks.
Seemed quite funny but truly wasn't as my cousin cried because she lost her money

Oh she has learned her lesson, you can't get her to be sympathetic even to the most needy now. It's a shame but life teaches you harsh lessons and well innocent people pay for it.

I know of a scam but everyone keeps falling for it even you. They say that its new but still has more bugs and viruses. it crashes then a new version comes out and then you have to buy a new version because they don't support the old version anymore. Then the cycle starts again. I'm sure i don't have to mention the name. lol

Never been scammed like that. But I've had people approach us trying to sell tools out of their car for "gas money". We even had a guy last year who drove up to us in a Chuck E Cheese lot with is van running asking for gas money... now if you are out of gas why are you driving around your van bugg'n people isn't that wasting what gas you have?!?! The man got mad when my Aunt told him to go scam someone else.

Nowadays many people are taking advantage to others, it so sad that this thing is happening. Anyway, in my personal experience i don't remember that i have been scam not all and hope it will not happen.
In my work here in earning sites i am happy that i am not a victim of any scam or similar situation, we have to be more careful at all times because there are many people that are really dreadful.

It's a shame though because as a general rule we all like to be able to help others. But because of the scams and dishonest people we don't feel like we even have a chance to help those who may be in a bind!

well i haven't experience to be scam (i hope this wont happen to me). what i experienced was a lady with her child in the sidewalk of the road she was asking if i could give her money coz she doesn't have one to be able to pay for transportation expense. i gave her money for she & her daughter can go home. but to my disappointment ive seen that same women everyday asking money for the same reason. why there were people like this?

i don't know. I know it's better buy them a meal, or physically put gas in their car, or even purchase a bus ticket for them. But they'll still find a way to sell it so they can support their habit whatever it might be!

The same thing happened to a friend of mine. A lady came up to his shop and told him sad stories and that she needs money, in exchange she's selling her cellphone at a very cheap price. That friend of mine was clueless at that time, He didn't suspected that he's about to be scammed. The cellphone was turned off and the lady claimed that it just needs recharging since she forgot the battery at home. After giving the money and after the lady left, my friend borrowed a cellphone charger only to find out that the cellphone won't turn on, he had it checked up at a repair shop only to be told the the cellphone is useless and nothing but a piece of junk.

Yeah, the camera he actually gave them had nothing on the inside! it was really sad because I know they didn't really have the money to throw away.. but I am sure it won't happen to them again!

Wow.. that sucks and is sad news.. I have never been scammed however this incident happened at my local gas station in California as well. A truck driving around was asking people if they want to buy a high brand stereo system for cheap.. and they said they brought a sample and the rest is at the house if you want to buy it.. probably a scam because they wanted $100 for BOSE.. they were probably going give the stuff in their truck and the rest at their house (was probably not going to happen).. It sad that people out their have no lives but to scam people!

I wouldn't be able to live with myself in peace if I took advantage of good hard working honest people! It is so hard for the police to catch people like that too.. very sad!

There are many bad people out there who takes money from other people relentlessly. The last time I was scammed was during my holidays and got sucked into signing up with the insurance/education fund company. They approached me and my 13 yr. old son in the mall. That we are lucky shoppers and picked to win fabulous prizes. They got us to choose a couple of stubs and we only got the promotional prize of wall clock & umbrella, then they ushered us to an office where there were also lots of their prospective victims. We were given endless iced tea and asked to sit for 30 minutes in order to qualify for a house & lot draw at the end of the month. I should have left by then, but they go on and on and on explaining their stuffs. I went to the washroom and left my son. When I got back, they got into my son's brain and he even prodded me that I should sign up as it is for his future. I stood up and wanted to leave but they asked me further questions & tried to convince me. To make the long story short, I walk out of that office $2000 charged in my credit card with monthly payments deducted on it. The other old lady from New Zealand was also dinked $3000 in her cc and was almost in tears, wanting to retract what she signed up for. I got home and felt like I just got robbed and got sold with insurance policy I don't need. My sister & her hubby told me that there has been lots of complaint about this company's operation and it is even in the news. When I left the country, I research on this company and was able to get some help. After few months I got my money back!
