Linux ever taking off? / myLot

I keep wondering if Linux will ever grab more than 2% market share. Since the end of the '90s Linux crowd preaches that the year when "Linux will take off" is just around the corner. Will that year ever come? I guess not. Windows is well established and feel very safe with 7. The future is perhaps cloud computing. Maybe there...Linux...? What you think?

are you kidding windows is never safe with out a anti virus program installed, it may be latest or oldest. is the one of the user friendly os, as per linux i have been using it in my net book as had no problem until now, only once i have formatted it as i have made a mass while installing firefox.

Well I was NOT speaking about how reliable is Linux (I use also Ubuntu), but if will ever grow in the market. Linux is reliable but used only by few enthusiasts and virtually not present in the enterprise.
