What do you think this rule of the amusement park?

Some amusement park doesn't allow you to bring your food and drink, and you have to buy it in the park. Of course the price will be much more expensive. I often bring my own water bottle so that I won't waste many plastic bottles outside. I want to do something good for the environment. But now the amusement park's rule is bad because it means to say everyday it will create many trash. What do you think? I think the amusement park should change it and allow the people to bring the food and water.

Even if I also hate the fact that I can't bring my own food and just be contented with buying the expensive ones they sell, we also have to look through it on a businessman's point of view. They get more earnings by forcing the people to buy the amusement park's food instead. It's all about profit and the amusement park's owners have to utilize anything they can use to earn more from their customers.

Yes, but this kind of selling is not good. It is by a force.

They need to cater more to peoples needs then. Diabetics can't eat a lot of stuff or can only eat certain combinations. I have acid reflux disease. I cannot eat: apples tomatos garlic onion carbonated beverages orange pineapple lemon limes All this stuff makes me feel sick and vomit.... not a good combo at an amusement park. I'm also a vegetarian... but most places at least have a veggie burger I can eat. I'm also hypoglycemic. This means if I don't maintain my blood sugar by eating every couple of hours I get dizzy and sick. I have trouble focusing and get light headed.

Lots of public places usually think one way or standard. Sooner or later, whoever operates an amusement park or in charge of certain business will need to think of certain people's needs. Depending on where you are, you just need to speak up or let those people know in advance about whether or not you're diabetic or you need to have certain diet. I think this could be done allright in US. Don't know about other countries. G.

Well, I think they should either allow ppl to bring in factory sealed bottles to drink or have drinking fountains set up. Not everyone can afford $6 for a little bottle of water. It's even worse for those of us who are very sensitive to the heat b/c we tend to drink even more water to try to keep cool. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Wow, Twoeye! Bottled water comes in many sizes, but I pay no-where near $6 for my 24 oz. size! Where on earth are you shopping?! Maggiepie "Writing is a way of talking without being interrupted." ~ Jules Renard, author (1864-1910)

I guess really that the amusement park can set their own rules as it is their property. I don't think it unfair of them to stop people bringing in their own food as it seems very greedy of them. They earn loads of money from the rides no doubt and could well be driving other potential customers away because of this ruling. _Derek

I think you are allowed to bring in water or empty water bottles at most around where I live. Either that or they have to offer free water. People would get sick if they did not have water. I always sneak some stuff in anyways. They don't usually look very hard. I find the stuff at amusement parks is very unhealthy. I agree that it is also bad for the enviroment.

I don't like the rule as well. I don't understand why we can't bring our own food and drinks. After all, it's not like food are completely banned in there and so why not allow us to bring our food. In most cases, there are usually so many food kiosk and coffee house in amusement parks, but they are often empty. The expensive pricing just puts everybody away. One reason I can think of is, people bringing their own food will make use of those coffee house tables for their own food then staffs have to clear tables because of that.

But I think usually people won't have their own food and drink in somewhere like the coffee houses because they know they don't consume anything there, so it is not suitable to occupy the seats there.

This summer a free water park opened just off the sea front and it is really popular with children under 12 years old. The thing is the people are meant to only buy food and drink there. People are not meant to bring their own picnics. That is a shame because there are limited types of food. If a picnic is brought along it can be the people own choice of food. There are trash bins and most of the people use those. I believe it is a money making idea for the amusement park to make people buy food and drink there. The amusement park could buy lots more trash bins and ask people to use them. They could have posters saying to keep the environment clean and not be a litter bug. I like taking my disabled son and baby daughter to the water park.

Wow a FREE water park that is so awesome. That is really great for the people who live near it. All you'd have to do is bring food and leave it in your vehcile until you were hungry. You could put it in a cooler to keep it cold. Or you could just eat before you go. That would save money. I wish they had a free water park around me.

hi youless they have the same rules here at the ball stadium and other such places even Disneyland. the owners want to make more profit so they sell food and drink but if they would just price their things more' fairly they would really make more money. I think they all overcharge like crazyI think that if the cost of food and drink were fair it would be nice as you would not have to lug a bunch of stuff with you.

Hi. youless. They mind as well let people bring their food and drinks in the amusement park. You are going to eat anyways even if it is just your own food and drink. When I am going to be somewhere long, I like to bring my own food and drink with me. The food and drinks are usually expensive but mines if free. I guess amusement parks keep a person from bringing their own food and drink because they want them to buy from the amusement park. This allows them to make more money off of you and anyone that comes.

You are right. Since we can't bring our food and drink, so even if their products are expensive, but we have to accept to it.

This has to understandable. An amusement park is open to make money. If we bring food and drink from ouside the park, we are interfering with their business. They can't make money and remain open if we take away from them what they are offering to us.

I agree it is understandable. While it sucks for the people who want to go to amusement parks we have to realize that everything there is for them to make money. If we bring our own food then they will not make money. They make a lot of money off the food at amusement parks becaue you run around all day in that hot sun and even if you can go without food you definitly need drinks. When I was younger and we went with a group of people to an amusement park we took a cooler that we kept in our cars and when it was time for lunch we went back to the car to eat. The problem was that the parking lot was packed so we had to park farrrrr away. By the time we go thirsty or hungry and wanted to walk back to the car it took so long and made us so much thirstier it was hard to even make it back to the vehicle so we wound up just buying drinks there anyway. It was such an expensive day by the time we paid like $25 to get in.

I think everywhere will have their own rules. Even in mylot it will be the same. If you are the amusement part, if you think on the site of the amusement park, I believe you will too to disallowed people to bring in their own food instead of buying from the park. This is how they earn money. A business man will never think of the ethic or how their business will affect the environment, what they concern is only how much money they will lose if they allowed people to bring in their own food and drinks.

Of course they put those rules since their profits are from selling food and merchandise. I always bring a couple of sandwiches and water bottles when going to Disney World. They don't have those rules about not bringing in food though. As for you saying it creates many trash, I think that amusement park is lazy to hire more people for the custodial position and lazy to clean their own park. You can't tell people not to bring their own food because more trash will be created. Disney World custodians have to clean the trash bins every 45 minutes just to make sure it doesn't over flow. I know cause I used to work at Disney World and I was a custodian. I even have to scrape off the gum on the side walk since Disney loves to keep it clean since that was Walter Disney's dream. His dream was to built an amusement park that was fun and for the family and that his park was going to be clean. Not like the other parks that are dirty. I'm sure other amusement parks can do that, but I guess they are too lazy and just want more profit by forcing people to buy food in the park. Plus, what about the people who are diabetic? They have to bring their own food since bringing their own food that they have eaten before makes it more easier to control their blood sugar levels. It'll be hard to control if they eat food from the park and they don't know how many sugar and carbohydrates are their in those foods. They can't deny those people of bring in their food to the amusement park. I don't like the rule, but sometimes we have no choice and are force to buy food in the park since we can't do anything about it.

Amusement parks are places for fun.Atleast our own water bottles should be allowed. We cannot always keep on looking for a water bottle vendor or a cooler. Yes i also agree that bringing own bottles will reduce trash and save environment. Also if people have to buy water bottles , they may not always buy water and may buy cold drinks such as coke etc and will result in unhealthy drinking.

I also don't agree with that rule because the food they sell is very expensive. We just eat before entering the park. If we really have to buy i try to choose the least expensive but filling food and we also bring own own water just like you.

Sound like the park is far more concerned about their profit than they are about being green. They obviously think they need to guard the profits they get from food and drink. Sorry, but they not want to change their rules. You might try writing a letter to the owner.

Hi there Youless I agree with you that they should let you bring your own, as many People can not afford to buy the Drinks and food there specially after paying the Entrance fee to But of course they have done it to get more money out of People, that is why so many Children have to miss out on the Parks because the Parents can not afford to take them

I also think the amusement parks should allow people to buy food and water. There should be trashcans to put the plastic bottle and water. People should not be allowed to throw wastes, food remaining, and plastics to other places except the trashcans. I think the cost of the food and water are higher in the amusement parks than outside.

I've never heard of a rule like this, myself! This is kind of ridiculous to me! I think they should change this rule, too! We just had our county fair last week and I found out the hard way how expensive the food is. I think next year, I will eat before I go. As far as creating more trash, I think that's bad, too. People just don't have any pride any more.
