I just started the Master Cleanse. Have you ever had any experience with it?

This morning marks the start of the Master Cleanse - also known as the Lemonade Diet - for me. I plan to follow the cleanse for the recommended 10 days and follow it up with a 4 day period to return slowly to a regular diet. Fortunately, the Master Cleanse fits in just fine with The Maker's Diet that I have been following since the beginning of the year. The Master Cleanse is a ten day (shorter or longer, depending on your personal goals) period where all you consume is: 1. A mixture of freshly squeezed lemon juice, pure maple syrup, and cayenne pepper. 2. A cup of senna tea each night. 3. A salt water 'flush' each morning. In addition, it is OK to drink an occasional cup of mint tea and as much pure, filtered water as you like. I started last night with a dinner of organic, plain, whole milk yogurt mixed with some berries. I figured that the pro-biotics in the yogurt would be beneficial and I didn't want to eat a large, heavy meal just before starting this fast. As well, before bed I used a fiber supplement drink to help get 'things moving.' This morning, I began the day with my salt water flush - simply mixing 1 tsp. of sea salt with a glass of water - and my regular daily dose of VIDACELL. While VIDACELL is not on the 'approved' list for the Master Cleanse, I don't think that it will interfere with the cleanse and will likely enhance my results. I am not a tea drinker at all. I just don't like it. As such, I will be refraining from both the nightly senna tea - which is added for its laxative effects - and the mint tea during the fast. While I could stand to lose about 30 pounds, I am not really focusing on the weight loss aspects of the cleanse. I have lost about 60 pounds since the beginning of the year, so I am not worried about my ability to drop more pounds in a nice, gradual manner. I will reach my ideal weight eventually. I am more interested in the immune system and other health benefits. Have you ever tried the Master Cleanse? What were your results?

I have read about the lemonade diet. I might have even printed it up. That salt water flush sounds yummy. JK. But I haven't tried this. When I get another paycheck I will have to seriously consider this.

Yeah, the salt water flush was certainly not my favorite taste experience. Besides, it didn't work for me this morning. Apparently I didn't use either enough salt or water, or both! Tomorrow will be another attempt at the flush. Hopefully it will work better. Of course, I am blogging about my experience with the whole thing.

I was thinking of doing just that starting this weekend. however i thought for me personally it would be better to do a different kind of cleanse. one that has to do with only eating nuts, fruits, veggies, and beans. no meat, no dairy. six small meals like that each day along with some fiber sublements, green tea with honey, and a tall glass of water with lemon in it each morning for 7 days. I wish you the very best of luck with your master cleanse my friend

Green tea is amazing stuff! I wish I liked tea so that I could actually drink some. I have tried, but I just can't bring myself to like tea. I do use a green tea extract on occasion, but drinking it just doesn't work for me. There was a pretty good green tea mix by Tea Tech (or something like that), but it is sweetened with Splenda and I refuse to use any artificial sweeteners anymore. Good luck on your cleanse, as well!
