i have attended a seminar, and the speaker talked about being optimistic. looking at the brighter side of whatever we experience. she said that we should have a goal in life. we should have a plan so that we have a direction and we know what we really want. if we are not able to get all that we want now due to lack of money, don't worry because it is on its way. we should refrain from saying that we don't have money instead, it should be "it will come and its on its way!" when we received something that is small in amount, don't frown, just say that "its good to have a few than nothing"
we should not ask for more if we have a little because when the time will come that you have nothing, you'll think that "few" was enough than to have nothing.
are you an optimistic or pessimistic type? how do you view things? :D

Yeah I agree with the speaker in the seminar, Only being optimistics helps a lot in give us a fresh life, Imagine what would happen if you convert that optimism into reality. The thing is that you should be able to act on your optimism, like if you are optimisitic about money, then just being optimistic would boost your morale for sure, but you have to try to put that optimism to work and earn money, otherwise you may develop pessimism again :D.
I have read a book "titled Secret" book, its combined with the writings and secrets from a bunch of successful people who have cared to share their secrets with us. There it has been mentioned clearly about optimism and the way you think clearly is going to attract or repel the "subject" you think about.
For e.g. You always think about being poor, then you are not going to be rich as you are repelling money by thinking that you don't have it, rather thinking that you have a lot of money and you are buying the things you want definately helps to attract money to you and by this attitude, money is sure to come your way through some sources or the other. Just being optimistic helps for sure, While being pessimistic is not going to help you anyhow, instead it will keep increasing your problems :D.

i agree with you. we should also make a step for us to move on in life and reach the top that we are hoping for. with that successful people who shared there secrets will continue to be blessed because they are trying to help other people to reach what they have reached. we should learn to help each other not to pull them down. :D

yes. sometimes our attitude towards life will determine who we will be in the future. positive thinking will attract positive things and events and negative thinking will attract all bad things in life. so we should be positive most of the time! :D

Thanks for the good reminders: to have a goal and a plan, and to be optimistic. When I went to the dentist yesterday morning, the hygienist was very positive and that gave a real good boost to my morning.

Sometimes when I'm upset, I'll always try to be optimistic. Even thinking of the most trivial future happy events like being able to play badminton and carrying on playing my fsx on my beloved computer, gets me going and my upset mood will immediately be back to happiness mood. Being pessimistic not only makes us more upset and depressed, it also harms our health. Because pessimists always look on the bad side of life and as often they think about this, the more bad things will happen to them and finally, the worst to happen is that, they take their lives. Not good. Always be optimistic! It keeps us fresh-minded and energized! Optimists think on the bright side of life and will continue living happily. Even when they leave this world, they'll leave happily because all their lives, they are optimistic about things! So needless to say, when they are about to die, they'll accept it readily and happily as part and parcel of their life. We should all be optimistic in order for this world to be a better place for us to live in!!!

being pessimistic creates troubles in our life. when we look at the brighter side of our undertakings, crimes and troubles will be lessened and we will all enjoy the gifts of the world. we should start with ourselves and maybe we can influence others to do the same. :D

Having a positive thoughts and perspectives in life is a big factor of getting a happy life despite of the odds.:)
I have read and seen testimonies about the power of positive thinking. What we think and confess will eventually manifest in our lives.
One great motivator of getting positive result is to claim that we can have it or rather we already have it, that angels in heavens are on their ways to deliver it to us, what we must do is to believe and claim it in our hearts without doubt.

Anyone will tell you to be positive all the time, even on days when things are not going right. This is the right to do. We should always look at the brighter side of anything and everything.
But, sometimes or most often, you are weak. Problems will really put you down and make you worry. If you are solving problems on your own, it will be difficult and it will turn you to a negative person. Better to have friends and family know your problems. They might not know the answer but, the mere fact of letting it all out, will benefit you.

yes. we should remember that we have our friends and relatives around us. knowing that we are not alone will make our problems lighter. and we should also remember that we all have problems and we don't know, some people have much more problems than what we have. :D

Optimistic feelings can make a person feel happy about what is going to happen. If he or she is pessimistic then that might make the person feel miserable. When a bill arrives in the winter that is expensive for the gas because of the central heating I will think of the summer when it will be very low indeed. When my flight to Cancun was canceled due to a hurricane that hit the Mexican coast I rushed to book a alternative flight. Off I went to the Maldives. My mom used to say 'When my ship comes home" as a phrase when I was a child. She was imaging more money on its way in the future. So dreams in life can come true and I believe the optimistic people have a better time than the pessimistic people have. I view things with optimistic feelings most of the time. Recently my mom had an operation in hospital and I was very worried about her at that time. I took my children out and we bought get well soon cards. I am so pleased to see how much better my mom looks now. I am looking forward to taking her out to tea at a garden center. I am a keen traveler and I look on the bright side of traveling.

I suppose being optimistic is good although there are times I'm sure when you don't feel like being optimistic and I know this is certainly the case with me. I have never been to a seminar but I do know that you get a lot of people at these places and sometimes they can be quite expensive to attend. I suppose it's all about attitude and I try to maintain a positive attitude although I do have my days when I am feeling quite low and depressed.
A few years back I purchased some coaching cds and the coach on these cds is none other than Anthony Robbins! I don't know if you've heard of him but he leads these seminars as well, I have never been to one, far too expensive but it's nice to hear his voice on these cds. Whenever I feel low or down I start to listen to one of his cds and it's like I receive a sudden burst of energy! He promotes positive thinking and and attitude of gratitude so to speak. I tend to agree with a lot of what he says.
I think that the biggest thing I am lacking in my life is money, I'm pretty sure this is the same for a lot of people. Anyway, it's my hope that I will attract a lot more money into my life as I am stuck in limbo right now and I am unable to do what I would like to do or experience what I would like to experience. Optimism is one of the prime avenues to a good life. In fact, it was accentuated in the documentary film "Secret." I couldnt really say that i am an optimistic person but in everything i do, i just trust God. If i fail in some undertakings, i would take it that it may not be right for me or i am not in my ripe time. Like for instance, i had a very busy friday, i even commented, "wow.. what a friday! it doesnt feel like a friday at all because of the many meetings that i had to attend to and to consider all the pending stuff in my incoming tray." But if I have to analyze it further, it is a loooooot better this way rather than doing nothing at all in the office because that would mean that your office is not doing good in production or nearing closure.

Yes, an optimistic attitude must be owned by every person who wants to succeed in life. Without that attitude someone will lose the motivation to start something.
I am an optimist when starting, but if when I felt a hitch then I will try to find alternatives for the purpose of which is almost the same or even similar.

having more alternatives is also part of being an optimistic because you believe that there are other ways if one plan doesn't work out. some people lose hope when they do not succeed in their first try...

I love what you wrote here pitsieriray. I would rather see opportunities in despair than despair in opportunities. I believe that's the difference between optimisism and pessimism. I would rather be optimistic than pessimistic. I would rather enjoy this life. It's the one to live in.

i used to be a pessimistic but i realized it was dragging me down. I used to find happy or lucky events as just that, pure luck. then, i realized that i could have the choice how to view things in my life, in a way which would aid my growth and makes me at peace and be happy with myself and with the world around me.
now i can truly say i am an optimistic person, believing that there are two ways to look at things and you could either choose to view it negatively and affect your way of life, your line of thinking and even the way you feel about things or you could choose to look at the bright side of things, and feel the difference in the way you deal with things and with the people around you.
being optimistic does not mean you are not being true to what is really happening, but it is that kind of attitude that despite the problems, the obstacles, you still find hope and something good in the situation which propels you, motivate you to move forward and make the situation better. Pessimism will propel you to depression while optimism will push you towards a better future, towards hope.

I do admit that I was a pessimistic before. But when I get to learn more significant lessons in life, I realized the importance of being optimistic. When I started to strive to live life with an optimistic mind set, I noticed that I don't readily feel bad whenever an unwanted circumstance happens. Whenever I am faced with difficulties, an optimistic mind set makes me think of possible solutions and work on these solutions rather than giving up and do nothing about it which will soon result to a regret. Whenever we are optimistic about life, life in return will be optimistic to us. There maybe problems along the way, but these problems will never hinder us to live life to the fullest.

Hello Pitsieriray! i think i am more optimistic than pesimistic. I always see the good part of anything before something very dramatic happens and make me think otherwise. I also make friends with everybody and i consider everybody a good person until they hurt me or anyone i care :)

that's good. everyone is a good person even those who are committed crimes. for sure you have a lot of friends by now.
i think you should know first the reason why some people chooses to hurt you or other people. sometimes, people hurt someone because it will make things right. and you should also consider that maybe they are also hurt by hurting you. :D

I try to be optimistic but I must admit that sometimes I really have to work on it. IMO, I can be either happy in this life or miserable in this life. The choice is really mine and it does all go back to attitude doesn't it? When pessimism seems to control me, I can shake it quite easily by writing a gratitude list. We all really do have so much when compared to many people on this planet, don't we?

i used to be pessimistic, always worrying about things, thinking negative things that it came to a point as if the world is collapsing down on me. I was so stressed out by my negativity that i was almost always in foul mood and almost nothing pleased me. every happy and positive things that ever happened i attributed just to pure luck.
and then one day, i came across some pages of an article which states to the effect that " two men in prison look out of their window cell one day. the other said how blue and beautiful the sky is, the birds must be happy to fly today. the other prisoner meanwhile said, what beauty? all i see is mud! mud and grass everywhere!". of course, one prisoner was looking up at the sky while the other one was looking down at the ground. they were both looking out the same window but they see two different aspects of the outside world.
and so i came to realize that i have the choice whether to look up or look down at things in my life, whether to look at it positively or negatively. when i started to look at the brigther side of life, i felt that life is a little more bearable to bear. i feel happier and not always cranky anymore, i started going out and made friends because then i also learned to smile.
i now realize that people always look at things differently and the kind of attitude you adopt as you deal with this things affect much your own way of thinking, your feelings and your whole way of life. Now, i can readily say i am an optimistic person, and during those down moments (optimists do have their own share of low moments) it is this optimism which pulls me through, almost unscathed, despite the almost-impossible hurdles and obstacles.

Being optimistic is one of the most important positive character to build with. Being optimistic is someone thinking the negative sides or vibrations to a positive way. For example, a person spend money online because he is scammed. Pessimistic person will say that "I will never join any online opportunity to make money" but the pessimistic person will say that "I think it will be my lesson to scrutinize and investigate first before I will join online opportunity to make money." Most pessimistic person sees the negative situation always on a darker side but a pessimistic person sees the negative side into a brighter opening for the future.

I am an optimistic person. I view life in an abundant way. Because I believe that God created everything we need in this universe. All we have to do is to be ready to receive it. If you believe that you will receive what you want, you will receive it. Because we have an abundant God.
