Well, having read this, I don't think that I would feed any of those five things to one of my cats. That said, they had very good reasons for saying that our cats should not eat these foods. When it comes to chocolate and milk, I had actually heard about both of those and I'm more inclined to be more strict with chocolate than with milk, but I will try to make sure that my cat doesn't have the opportunity to consume either of these.

Thank You all guys! I read all your comments. My baby kitten is sick right now. I don't know why. Maybe it's because she was wet with the rain last night. I never fed them foods that are not suitable for them.

Hello Alfroi. Years ago I had a gorgeous cat which my mother unfortunately named Thong, don't ask why as Ive no idea. He loved eating raw liver and he would literally eat it till he got sick and then eat the sick, terrible I know. Anyway, he loved it so much we just kept giving it to him almost twice a week or maybe even three times. As he hit the age of fifteen he got very sick and it turned out he had liver cancer, needless to say we were all very upset and our Vet told us that it was more than likely due to the amount of liver we actually gave him. It may be alright in small doses but just don't over feed it to your own pet. Hope that tells you something new man. Best of luck.

I have two cats as well as a dog and I tend not to feed some things to any of them. I knew milk can give cats diarrhoea and chocolates and onions are bad for them. I was not aware of green tomatoes, grapes and raisins so I will keep that in mind. I stick to food especially prepared for my cats that way I can’t go wrong.

Yep, I can assure you, those foods are not good for cats. Most cats, believe it or not, get diarrhea if you give them milk, and the other four we treat as toxicity cases when they come in. If someone says their dog or cat ate a good amount of chocolate or onion/garlic, or grapes we put them on IV fluids to flush out the renal system and then treat with medications.

THanks a lot for this list - my cat has been suffering from gastric problems since his kittenhood and I know he is always eating whatever he finds. Now I will be able to keep a better eye on him.

I don't know. I have a cat and she eats almost anything that I eat. I am a chocolate lover and I always give her chocolates and she does not get sick. But I am not suggesting that it is good for all cats because not all cats have same food tolerance, maybe you can ask a vet on what food is not good for your cat.

no, those foods are not good for cats, why on earth do you think they should be good for them? Cats are dedicated carnivores, meaning that they have no need to eat any kind of veggies to get their complete diet, in fact, a pure veggie diet will kill a cat - unlike a dog. So, of course their systems are different than ours and things that don't harm us can kill them.

I think that food that are not safe for dogs are also not safe for cats. Number one in the list is chocolates. This food though love by humans are poisons to dogs, it could be to our cats, too. But, to be sure, though. you must ask the vet's advise of what food to give or not to give to your feline pets. have a wonderful day.)
