Friends, for past several months, I feel tired, drowsy most of the times, may be due to Diabetics. My doctor friend advised me to take milk and fruits. Well I like seasonal fruits like mango, water melon, black berry, guava, banana, papaya only. The orange, grapes in my fruit market are not local, they come from other states, have high level of insecticides and pesticides I am told.
My wife, daughter in law wash them, cut the fruits using a cutter bought recently, the fruit served to me look yummy and appealing. Little black salt powder is added to make it tasty for me.
Do you enjoy eating fruits, which are your favorite, you eat plain or add salt, sugar etc? Please share.Professor

hi professor,
fruits are good. i would also advise that you have them as much as you eat dal and roti.
but i have read somewhere that bitter gourd is good food for diabetics. some have made it into capsules and taken as food supplement.
have a nice day.

We get seasonal fruits here in Hyderabad. They are good.We both myself and my wife have diabetes so most of the fruits are prohibited for us .I immensely like mangoes we are not supposed to eat much. I cannot resist temptation. My wife is very strict in diet.We get banama in plenty but it contains 80 % calories and hence prohibited. In fact diabetic patients are not supposed to take many fruits. Some fruits can be taken in small quantities. For me I like fruits with little salt and I like that taste...

I've always been a huge fan of fruits. One of my first memories involving food was when I was a little girl I went to my neighbor's house and she had two rows of strawberries in her garden, well her granddaughter and myself went into their garden and picked and ate all the fresh strawberries straight off the vine. A few of the other fruits that I really like are apples and I also love peaches, but if I have peaches, they have to have come from Georgia.

Days ago I asked my boyfriend: Do you know how many things I like?
Then he answered: first, fruit; second, fruit, and third, also fruit...
Yeah, I do love eating fruit, and love them a lot. I cannot name which is my favorite one, because I love most of them, such as water melon, grape, banana, apple, and so on. :)
Usually I eat them plain. It seems unusual to adding some salts or sugar when eating them.

hi professor I am a diabetic also and get very groggy when I am naughty and indulge in some candy I do know better. I love strawberrys, watermelon bananas, grapes, and mangoes too but mangoes are really costly here in the U S and oh how I love raspberries and blueberries and they are so good for us diabetics.I love ripe really ripe canteloupes with just a tinybit of salt on them.I really dislike the taste of paypayas. to me that is the most disgusting flavor. all other fruits I do really like oh and I love pineapple too.

I love green sour mango, green apples, rock melon, guava with plum powder, prunes and sweet and sour tamarind.. I have to cut back though on guava because it gives me constipation.

Sir,
You should be very careful about your health, at this age it's only proper diet that works better than anything else. Try doing some YOGA & PRANAYAM.

I love eating all kinds of fruits ranging from the most basic apple to king of fruits, durian. I don't mind if fruits are sweet, sour, bitter or bland. I just like the crunch of it for some while I like the juices from others. I eat mangosteen and dragonfruit as well, including lemon. I like fruits with my salad because it's healthy. I don't need any condiments when all the natural flavorings from fruits are in there.

Oh, I love fruits. Ha! I'm a vegetarian. I have never tried adding a topping to a fruit before. I do not think I would try salt on fruit, there is so much sodium in most of our foods today, it may not be a healthy choice. I eat my fresh fruit plain, but I also have dried fruit too. I cannot control what they put in dry fruit (salts, sugars, etc), I try to find ones that do not have added content to them. Fruit as is is just perfectly delicious when plain.
