Blame it on NATURE and genes, provided by it.
Nature seems to have made us "possessive" and socially oriented. Thus one society finds it difficult to accept another. This applies to land, house, spouse, children, siblings, country, religion etc etc. This creates tension among individuals and they just seem not to accept others.Within a society all individuals do not accept all the others. Thus it percolates down to the individual level, which one can call "selfishness".
It seems that Nature wanted certain things the way they are(now)! It seems Nature is playing a game with us all!

you are right. i feel that we all (myself included) have our little quirks and that if we expect others to accept us we should accept others. just because something is unknown does not make it weird or dumb... just different than what we are accustomed to.

I agree. No matter what, people are people. We need to accept that everyone, no matter what nationality, race, belief system or any other difference, is still worthy of respect, love, friendship, or even just acceptance and tolerance. No one group is superior to the others and it doesn’t help anyone when one person/group has a superiority/inferiority complex.
