Would Friendster redeem itself and overthrow Facebook as being the number 1?

Hi myLotters!
It is a known fact that Facebook is indeed the number 1 social networking site on the face of the Earth. I bet each and every one of us has our own account(s) for whatever reason it may serve us. It has now become a site for everything - from uploading videos, playing online games, posting job ads and items on sale!
Clearly Facebook has become a jack of all trades!
But has anyone thought that once in our lives, we had a Friendster account? Friendster started it all! And indeed, Friendster once had that title.
But what happened with the site? What made us switch to Facebook and delete our own Friendster accounts?
This is one question I want to throw out to all our myLotters out there... I need your two cents on this.

Oh I thought Friendster was just most popular here in Asia and that Myspace had the top once.
I had a Friendster once but even then I was not that much active in using it even now that I switched to Facebook. I think that Facebook's edge is the various applications it offers and how it is more easy to keep updated with your friends.

I think it wouldn't be wise to go against a trend... You may log-in friendster but everyone is on facebook so it would be useless to do so..
