It's less than a month to go before Halloween and every time this day comes I don't very much comfortable about it.. I am a totally scaredy person. I guess it's because I keep on watching horror and paranormal movies.. since Halloween is coming anyways, what are your plans for this day? I mean, would you go somewhere else or just stay in your house, or go for a trick-or-treat? Or if you won't. do you give out treats or candies for little kids when they knock on your door, or you just give them some tricks?? Here in our place my kid had attended a trick or treat party once and she enjoyed it but she was too scared because of the other kids wearing freaky costumes..I guess what she was happy about were the candies and chocolates she got.. And I don't know if there will be another one for this year in our place.. Since halloween is coming, do you plans for the day? please share.. Thanks and happy myLotting everyone!!

hello dear,it was nice that your kid was able to experience such parties like that, though i wonder where have they celebrated it? oh,you are a scaredy person? in what way? i thought you are more of a scarer, not the one who is being scared. hmmm...seems like i have a plan for you, well, here in our place (or in our street) last year, the children had this trick or treat thing knocking on every door of each house.or should i say, shouting at every house's gates, lol! just to give some tricks or ask for treats instead. well,i don't know how they scare or give tricks,i just simply send my niece to give them treats if we do have something to give. but most of the time,we just ignore them. of course, kids who are too little can be scared with such costumes or masks.my niece used to be scared when we do hang out in a mall where we can see such scary masks and things. she would really hide herself in her mommy's armpits, really funny... we don't usually have plans for this day. we are more excited and prepare something when it's christmas time, and new year. hope we could hang out before christmas,my dear!

well,i too can be scared at times, but watching horror movies is not my thing now.i don't like the idea of watching such specially when it's late night and the movie is really scary.i can't sleep with that. unless if the movie have some comedy on it,i can sleep at least.but Halloween,i don't like watching such cause it might cause heart attack for me,lol! yeah, you have seen our street right? and the houses here mostly have gates which kids should really shout unless the doors or gates are open and people from inside can be seen by people outside. so,they have to shout when no people in sight, hehe i don't know why those kids do think of those things when in fact, other countries has brought that thing for those events. i believe that here in the philippines,we shouldn't have that.unless it's christmas time, what do you think? if i am with you,i guess i would also be scared. i don't like seeing masks or scary faces or costumes sometimes. specially when it's a kid involved. i guess mild makeups or masks would do with them. and scaring people is not reallya good idea in the first place.i never liked it. for sure, your daughter is really a cute one with that fairy costume. oh dear, how sweet of you to remember me... well,it depends on what plans my family has that time, for sure i'll tell you if i can be there with you... you're just a text away..

It's just on the other street dear.. On the 1st street..And yes definitely i'm a scaredy person.. If I have watched a super scary horror film, that is.. and if, it's the night of the Halloween.. Haha.. so children shout to ask for treats?? How desperate.. Or maybe you weren't going out to give them their treats that's why.. My kid got really scared with a little girl who was dressed up and had scary make up on like a "tyanak" even I got scared too.. At first, that is. That time my kid was wearing a fairy outfit.. She was the cutest and not the scariest kid there.. She wore that because she has nothing scary to wear.. So will you be available during halloween? Because I'd like to ask you to come with us on the cemetery for an overnight if you are available.. Thanks dear..

oh I see about that.. I am a fan of a good horror movie.. Only if I have company as I've said.. I never dare watch alone.. Well, there isn't anything wrong about adapting to foreign traditions like trick or treating for as long as it's for the kids' enjoyment for that day.. But I guess if a trick or treat party will be held in a place, then organizers should be able to let the town people know about the celebration, and not leave them clueless and unprepared for the knocking kids.. Yeah she was very cute, but I guess her outfit doesn't fit the theme 'scary' but who cares, I mean she's just a child.. And she's cute so doesn't matter at all.. Let me know then dear.. Well, we still have lots of time I guess.. Thanks!

Halloween is my most favorite Holiday of the year,as I truly enjoy watching the children come to my door and trick or treat in all their fabulous costumes. It is a big deal where I live as so many parents parade up and down the streets accompanying their children in glee. As what I will be doing, the day before there is this big Halloween party event as we are in the acting field, therefore we all get dressed in costumes, dance, they put on shows, great food and drinks. So I have to get to it as you have reminded me that I have yet to figure out which costume I am going to wear.

My party is on the 30th so I will be home the 31st, therefore I always give out treats. Even if a party were to land on the actual 31st children trick or treat during the day and the parties are usually way later in the evening. So it works out for me and the children. I am still contemplating which costumes to get. So many wonderful choices it gets a bit confusing. I am sure your daughter will have fun on this wonderful holiday. Have fun.

WOW. You seem to be perfectly attached to a Halloween celebration dear.. And I think that's nice.. With shows, and parties, and foods, and drinks,. It's such a great way to celebrate a Halloween.. So have you figured out what costume will you be wearing that night?? So you always give out treats for kids? Aren't there anybody who gives out tricks instead of treats? I am just curious.. I hope my kid would be able to attend a trick-or-treat party again.. And I hope she'll enjoy it.. Thanks for your response dear..

I probably won't end up doing anything for Halloween. It's just another day for me. Atleast it's a weekend this year so will probably be with my boyfriend and his son. His son is 2 so still 2 little to go trick or treating. But we may change our minds and take him out :)

Hi. genevy04. We probably will do the usual. We will just celebrate Halloween by looking at scary shows and movies all day long. And we don't get any trick or treaters at all. No one came by our apartment last year for Halloween. The year before, we did not get any visitors at all either. My kids did went trick or treating in October 2007. That was the last time that they went to. I am kind of them going trick or treating this year. Two years ago, a young boy was killed by a man. He was knocking on his door for some candy and the man shot him. He was under 12 years old. I don't think that I will let my kids go trick or treating this year because of this terrible incident.

nope.i just let it pas. halloween is most celebrated in other country while Christmas time is the most celebrated. I think of it as more concentrated for children and other party gimmicks and so on. So far the party i like about is all about masquerade. so halloween is really for children to enjoy.

Yes I think so too that Halloween is mostly for the kids.. But even grown ups can enjoy it too.. There are lots of Halloween parties to be held on that night for sure.. And parades are nice also.. But however we celebrate Halloween, what's important is that we take the moment to remember our loved ones who already passed away.. Here in our country, we light up candles on our yard at 6 in the evening in remembrance of our lost loved ones.. Do you do that too?? Thanks for responding nee..

Halloween for me is like an ordinary day. Depending on my schedule I will go to the municipal cemetery and pay homage to my deceased ancestors there. That's how we celebrate Halloween, or should we say, Undas in our language (Filipino).

We also do that.. Though we go to the cemetery every once in a while to check on my Mom's tomb there. Check if it was taken good care of and make sure it is cleaned always.. So I'm sure we'll be going there again and spend overnight with other people who will spend the night in the cemetery.. And sometimes we do it on a shift schedule.. Since it's kind of cold staying there, we need to do the stay on a shifting schedule because if no one is going to stay there I'm sure my Mom's tomb will be stepped on and damaged by people there.. We have to be there to make sure nobody's going to ruin the area.. Thanks for your response ejedron..

It will just be another holiday, we don't pay attention to halloween really because no one ever comes down out street. We live down a dirt road with not very many houses. They're kids down this road but I guess they usually go off somewhere else to trick or treat.

Oh I see about that.. Well me too, I think it's just another holiday but definitely we would go to the cemetery where my mom was buried, and stay there overnight. It would be a fun night I'm sure since many people will be there and stay overnight too.. With lots of foods sold there and lots of fun, spending a night in a cemetery would be great. But do you love watching horror movies during Halloween? Well thanks for your response dear and advanced Happy Halloween..

I don't really have any major plans for Halloween. I'm going to be working that day and since I work in the mall I'll be seeing a lot of cute kids in costumes going from store to store to get candy. Then they have a little party in the center of the food court area that's always entertaining to watch. Not much going on after work for me since no one goes to our house. We live far back on the street, it's dark so a lot of people avoid our place.

It's good to see kids on their costumes walking in the mall and carry their pumpkin baskets filled with treats they got from the shops.. I guess Halloween is one Holiday that kids should really enjoy.. I guess all you can do about that is watch them enjoy their store to store visits and later on their Halloween show.. It's double pay anyway during that day right?? So enjoy your work and have fun.. Thanks for your response saizo..

I don't celebrate halloween because I don't have any kids. I do like seeing peoples yards all decorated in spooky fashion. Fall is a special time and it brings back a lot of memories for me. I love the smell of burning leaves and the autumn colors.

Oh Halloween, the joy of screams and candy! I think I'll be going to Hween parties all around my area, then go trick or treating! I don't think that trick or treating isn't going to be gone for a while due to it being so much fun :). Happy Halloween everyone! - Fryloc

Halloween is not that big an event in my country. So people do not celebrate it normally. But in some pubs, people will dress up for the events. As for trick or treat, it is not practice normally.

hi there sjlskl, I know it isn't that big thing compared to other Holidays like Christmas.. And sometimes it is over looked because others get too excited about Christmas even Halloween is still yet to come.. I know some places here who hold parades and parties during Halloween but I have never attended any..I only see it on television and they are in their scariest costumes.. But we would probably be spending Halloween on a cemetery.. Thanks for your response and happy mylotting!
