This PC is old, 6 1/2 years old. I use it everyday. And yes, I take good care of it. I install it with software that amuses me or helps me with my work? It can also tun iTunes which is by Apple. Why should I buy a Mac?

Although I am one that truly enjoys technology my greatest all time favorite motto to use is why fix something that is not broken. I know several people who have purchased one and some have several issues with it, while others just have an expensive computer for which they do not even use all its features. So I am like you why should I get rid of my trusting Dell as long as it does and suits me my purpose.

As long as you're still okay with your old PC, I don't see any reason why you should buy a Mac. But if you can afford it and ready to trade your old PC, why not? If you ask me, I will buy a Mac because I need it and not because I wanted to show off.

I'm a longtime Mac user, and I have no problem saying that if your computer does everything you want it to, there's no reason to replace it. If you ever do want to replace it, you will probably still buy a PC so that you don't lose all your software. There are good reasons for liking Macs, but you don't *have* to buy one. Mac snobbery isn't any better than Windows snobbery. People have their own reasons for liking one or the other. If somebody was seriously considering buying a Mac and wanted to know more about it, I'd tell them. But I'm not going to just try to persuade people to switch.

If you're content with your computer, then there's no need to buy a new one.

Hi Fullduplex: So is my PC. It was Intel Pentium4 2.4Mhz and it still work like a charm. I haven't upgraded any hardware with it but it is still reliable after six years of constant abuse and endless OS upgrades (it now runs Windows XP Service Pack 3). I have considered upgrading its main board, RAM and CPU chip so it can tackle newer applications. Other than that, I have no plan to buy a Mac. Once upgraded, my PC can do better than that, and at a lower price too (around USD70 only, more or less).

Buying a MAC is lile deciding to start to learn computers from the beginning, again... Almost noting works like the PC, and many programms won`t be available for mac. If you are very happy with the PC you have set it up during time to do anything how you like it, buying a mac will cause you a huge wate of tme doing the same thing, plus you have to earn how macs think... which will also take time. my best solution for people that own and like PC`s, but fancy about a mac, is to buythemselves a mac notebook, and use it for travelling & browsing & testing & easy stuff to do, until they fully understand it and like it, but keep their PC as the main "production" PC for a while longer. Then, in time, you will know if the new "production" computer will be a mac or a pc.

its just my opinion. people who buy macbook is just for prestige. why we must pay so much money just for macbook? is that because their beauty OS? 3D effect? linux can do it, since Mac OS and linux like similar system. based on my experience, theres like no difference in MAC OS and linux systems.
