Sales is the most important function in today's society

Hi Mylotters, I was just thinking about sales and selling in general when it struck me that selling is something which we have to do in everyday life.Say, a salesman comes home after a hard day and finds that his spouse is in a foul mood. Now- our hero does not want to indulge in a row, so he sells peace to his wife, the row does not even start and all's well that end's well. When you woo your girl friend before marriage, you are selling. When you ask her father for her hand, you are selling....In fact, we are selling from the time we grow up from the 'innocence of a baby'. What do you think? Do you think differently and if so why?
