I've heard that writing a diary helps you to make things in order, but I haven't written a diary yet, do you think you should write or not? I've read my grandmother diary, it was more like a story, took me half of day to read, but was really interesting, so maybe I will write my own diary some day, so my kids could read it later. The thing is, I have never read anything with such a passion I read that diary, sad that people leave us, no one lives forever, but by writing something you will live longer even after your death...

i write diary sincerely. it's real fun to write diary. it is like telling our problems and daily routine problems to a friend. we write a diary so that we can get some aashwaasam by telling it to some body else. we can write our emotions in diary. hopefully everyone can write a diary as it is a simple activity which requires a little bit of time before going to sleep. hope u find my response a bit idiotic but i am not feeling so good today.

Your response isn't idiotic, I think that people should write diaries since of all the facts mentioned here, I hope I will start my own soon.

I usually write on my blog, and set a password that nobody can read it except myself.
When I was young,my mum bought me a diary.I was very happy at first. But then,I found my mum sometimes had a look in my diary. Then I lost the interest writing it!

I've tried to write a diary .in such a way I can rewind everything that happen during the day,..YAH..It's nice to have 1..you can open something when you get old..you will have the chance to chase those that happens during the pass,.you'll find each day having a meaning if you'd be able to remember some inspiration in the pass..
though sometimes It can remind you some sad feelings..\

I have kept a journal on and off throughout my life. The most amazing thing is looking back at all the things you thought were so horrible in your past and laughing and wishing those were your biggest problems today. It also does leave a legacy for your grandchildren and great-grandchildren to get to know you.

I don't have a diary. I write stories about my life. Every time I read them, I remember the exact things that happened at that point. I was asked to write a journal by our teacher once, and she told us to write on it everyday. I had difficulty doing so since I was used to writing stories, and not mere "I was happy today, dear diary".

I had a diary when I was pretty young, around 11 or 12 I think. I wrote everything down. Little things, big things, my thoughts and emotions and I made lists about people and things I want for christmas etc. It was important to me back then. It was a good way to vent my feelings.
I've tried to start writing again many times since then but it never sticks. I guess there's too many other things to do.

maybe ever since i knew how to write and express my feelings in words, that is when i have started making my own diary. when i was young i called it a diary, but now i now call it my journal.. it is kinda same though, but i like journal better.
i have been doing it since my childhood days. though i am a bit lazy, i still find myself writing because it is sort of an outlet for me of what has been going on in my life. then years later i would accidentaly read and laugh sometimes at how shallow i have been, it would also make me realize how mature i have become.
the very important thing of keeping a journal is that you will be able to look into your past emotions and what have you done to deal with them. it is kinda healthy and cost effective. :)
sometimes i would even say to myself i won't keep journals anymore due to being busy, but when an emotion strikes, there i go again. i have my notebook and my pen ready..just expressing what i need to express at the moment.
maybe when i die people will remember me through my journals. maybe they would realize they did not know me at all or maybe they will say it is as expected of me.
overall, i can't keep myself away from journalling. i just have a very strong affinity to a pen and any piece of paper.
:)

I used 2 write a diary when I was younger but I don't write one anymore. I used to keep an online diary as well. But too many people can access these things and I don't need anyone to know about my personal life so I just don't care to write those things anymore.

The world of journaling! I love that! I keep a diary on a regular basis and it's just an opportunity to write about my thoughts and feelings and what's happening in my life generally. I think this is a good thing to do as it improves your writing skills and abilities. I love to write generally and from my journals I graduated to writing articles on websites like Helium as well as Triond.
This is what I like about writing in a journal. You can look back on it many years in the future and you can read about what you were doing at that particular point in time. Also, as you say, once you leave this life your journal will live on and you will live on through your journal. I'm not famous or anything so my journal will probably make very boring reading!
Anyway, it's just an activity that I really enjoy and I try to write in my journal every few days. Andrew

I used to write diary when I was young and that's it. I prefer to blog now days and no longer expressing myself like I was in the diary. Diary is amazing, until someone read it. It supposed to be a secret where we pour all our heart content so it's a disaster if anyone does that. It's better for me not to write one anymore.

Hi! I have an online diary. It really helps me a lot specially if I want to vent, if I have something that's been bothering me, if I have some good ideas, plans, you name it, lol. I think it's really fun. Why not give it a try. There's a lot of online diary to choose from, just make sure to keep it private if you don't want others to read it.

well i write a diary but i am not a regular writer and i usually use microsoft office to write diary(saving paper). the diary writing solves one purpose that it keeps the history and while reading the past life you can easily reminisce your past life. many people told me that it is a good habit to maintain a diary but i write only when i am in mood or something different happens in a day. it helps to build writing skills and also can be used posthumous so other will learn the glorious past.
