What are your favorite rock bands?
Are they the old school ones? The metal ones? The dark ones? The upbeat ones? The disco ones?
As of my preference I like Bon Jovi, Nickelback, Jonas Brothers, Fall Out Boy, The Beach Boys, Scissor Sisters, and a random ones from others (Like those songs from guitar hero for example). Could you guys suggest to me some good ones? So far those are the only rock singers I sing to. Well, there's rock and roll.. but that's another topic I guess.

First of all "Rock bands" is too general of a term. There are many branches of rock such as alternative, jazz rock, heavy metal, pop rock maybe even blues rock. As for the bands I like, I usually stick to the local bands that are less known to the outside world. Smaller, infamous bands usually create better music. The Jonas brothers are over-hyped by the family channel while other bands who try to make a living, who are just as talented struggle to compete with them because of todays media. Even today, the Jonas brothers and many other over-hyped bands are dying down.

I agree with you with rock bands being a general term. Hmm.. I seemed to forgot to add The Darkness to my list of preference. They're a British band that only lasted two albums but I love their uniquely odd music.

For me the Rock Bands in the 50's are still the best rock bands.Today most rock bands are not that good like the 50's.

Could you tell me some good rock bands from the 50s? Preferably those with a slightly fast tempo or perhaps some of your favorites?

I have enjoyed the music of bon Jovi for many years. I still do. I do like listening to other bands but not as much as Bon Jovi. Nobody does it like them!

My favorites are:
Mötley Crüe, Nickelback, Bon Jovi, Kiss, AC/DC, Def Leppard, Metallica, Monster Magnet, Skid Row, Three Days Grace, Ugly kid joe.
... at least for now.
You should try listening to those at first and tell you opinion.

I believe in deliberately culturing a very eclectic taste in music to broaden my tastes. I think it is a sad thing and should be pitied when some one cannot enjoy a song or band. I don't like to find songs I don't like. I understand though,if one does not enjoy a work of music. My personal favorites (of all music) include, but are not limited to:
-Alice and Chains
-Nine Inch Nails
-Queens of the Stone Age
-Tool
-Perfect Circle
-Black Light Burns

I like the songs of Live. It's a rock band from the 90's. Check out their songs. Lightning Crashes, Selling the Drama, All Over You & others from their album Throwing Copper. Also into Nirvana. I'm not really particular about bands. I may like songs from a band but wouldn't like certain songs from the same group. I Stand Alone, Serenity & Voodoo from Godsmack are great. I also like to listen to Down with the Sickness from Disturbed, Bring Me to life & My Immortal from Evanescence. And also 3 Doors Down songs.

old skool is the best. i love Iron Maiden, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Led Zepp, Jethro Tull, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Dire Straits, Cream, The Jimi Hendrix Expreience, Dio, Red Hot Chilli's, GnR, and ACDC (with Bon Scott). That's my idea of the perfect line up, if the others were still alive. but those are the ones i listen to on a daily basis.
