Do you rate discussion or answer in myLot?

Personally I do not know much about what you said about rating.Who does rating..is it the person who initiates the discussion or the person who responds to any discussion.What are the guidelines for rating and how to do it.Please explain in detail...

Yes I always rate discussion and responses in mylot. I think if you rate any discussion and responses positively or negatively then it’s also affected on our ratings. So I always rated discussion and responses when I giving answer to discussions. I always try to give positively rating to discussion and responses. But in many rare cases I give negative rating when I see it is a very bad answer.

Hi Daniela, for me, I would always rate positively on both discussions and responses. When I start a discussion, If I am not able to respond to comments, I would see to it that I give them a positive rate. When I respond to a certain discussion, I would rate positive to the person who started the discussion.

I've been in mylot for just over a week. So now you brought it up, I will do give ratings to discussions and responses. I didn't realise there was this function. I haven't noticed those + - ! signs. Wow thank you for bringing this up. But, I've been very consistent in responding and acknowledging to each and every response I get from discussions that I've started. I hope these would do as well. I seldom rate others'discussions or answers .On one hand, i seldom notice them .On the other hand ,i don't think rating can make any difference .Does the system allocate more money to these who are highly rated ?If it does ,then i will rate others' discussions and answers .Anyway ,it is always a pleasure to help others .

Normally, I would rate discussions and comments positive. So far I have not encountered responses that says negative and abusive. I think people here in mylot are good. How will we know if our discussion or comments are rated positive by others?

Yes, I do. But I only rate "positive", not "negative". :) If I think this discussion or reply is interesting or helpful, I rate it. Besides, for people who response the discussion I start and says well, I don't forget to give them such a bonus by giving them a positive rate. They deserve it. :)

sometimes i will rate other discussions and i even answer their comments.but it is very rare.most of the time we just rate and answer to those who gave comments to us.in others discussions we used to just read and simple response to the poster.but i like the way we give our feedbacks to the other responders which will give us more $$$ for sure~

When I do post, I give a positive rate to all my responders but if the response is really negative then I neither rate it positive or negative. Sometimes, when I'm reading other people's post and response, if I found the response are helpful, then I do rate them positive.

i always see the ratings but i then i forget to rate. same goes for giving best response, but i give best responses when i feel the response was really good. that's why i'll just do well in answering discussions. ^_^

You said correctly, I want to get people to rate me,Similarly i try to make my comments helpful.

i give a response and then i read other peoples i don't usual don't rate them

I give a positive rating if the discussion started was interesting and well written. I give a negative if the discussion started is only one line like "whats your favorite color"... I mean seriously what kind of thought is put into that. If someone leaves a comment on someones discussion its a really good point brought across or they went into length to make an effort to answer the question then I give them a positive. If the commenter only leaves a short one line answer then I give them a negative because thats not what your supposed to do on mylot but to many people do not read the guidelines!

Hi, So far, I never give rating to other people discussions...sorry for not doing it. I just read at the topic that I am interested and then give my response to it. I never think of giving any rating at all. Out of my mind.

I do rate people on how they respond to a discussion, but I only ,mark positive I never mark negative because I would not want to do that. It's always good to mark people on here though because it really shows how active you are and that you really are reading their response. I always read a persons comment or response and that's when I decide to mark it if it's good I will mark it positive and that's all that their is to it. Mylot is a place where we can do this and I really do love that mylot added that new feature because now I can mark people based on their good responses.

I don't generally take the time to rate every last individual comment that is made to the discussions that I start.. however, I do rate those that I find intellectual or excellent and I rate those who I give my best response awards out to.

i didn't even know. if i don't like a discussion or think its not for me i just don't respond. i should pay more attention :)

Well i have just joined Mylot and hence i have not tried some features. Maybe i will start rating discusiions and comments soon.
