A healthy breakfast with no eggs?

I am trying to eat as healthily as I can now, for a start I always try to eat a good healthy breakfast. I did start off having omlettes, but then I realised that eating eggs everyday isn't a good thing either - fry ups like bacon, sausages, hash browns are out for me - I do eat it sometimes, and then again, I don't think that's too healthy either - maybe the odd salad every other day - but on a cold winter morning what else I could eat - that's healthy (!)? :)

I love eggs to & use to have them in some form every morning but have tried to get away from doing that to. I don't like oatmeal but they say it is very good for u. I like something warm to especially now that we are having some cool mornings, thank heavens. Alot of morning i eat fruit & a yogurt but had still rather have a good ol' country breakfast.

Sounds very appealing - could you tell me what a traditional 'country' breakfast consists of?

If you eat bacon in the breakfast (not everyday) it will give you energie for the test of the morning, so they are good. if you want to mix it up, try to eat 2 pieces of frute and a cup of milk. In the middle of the morning, try a cereal bar, (low carbs) or an apple. But bacon and eggs give energie, you just can't eat them every breakfast :)

I would love to have bacon on the breakfast menu - one of my favourite foods, just didn't realise how unhealthy it was... :)

You ate eggs every day for breakfast? Well, you're right, that's not very healthy, as they have a lot of cholesterol You can try with toasts, cereals, or maybe some fish instead of things like bacon or sausages. It's good to get energy in the mornings to help you with your day, but people having bacon for breakfast is the reason why there is so much obesity in the world. Not everyone who eats bacon for breakfast is obese though, I know

I love bacon, but I didn't realise that it was so unhealthy until a few years ago, I try to eat less now, but sometimes the tmptation is too great ! In a way, I also have a reason not to eat too much of it, as my face just swells when I have too much salt... :)

Have you tried the cereal dish called Swiss Bircher? Dr. Bircher created this dish in Switzerland in 1887 at his diet clinic. In 1924 it was named Bircher-Muesli and became a Swiss national tradition. It is a very good and filling breakfast dish, it needs to be made the night before. This recipe makes two servings I make it and keep the second portion in the fridge it does keep very well in the fridge. It looks a little strange but is VERY tasty, fills you up well and is very good for you. You need 90 g porridge oats,a tub of low fat yoghurt( natural or fruit flavoured), 113 ml skimmed milk,1 banana,1 apple, peeled, cored and chopped and some blueberries, strawberries or any other soft fruit you like Then just mix the oats, yoghurt and milk in a large bowl. Mash the banana, slice the strawberries or crush the blueberries slightly with a fork. Mix everything together, cover and leave in the fridge overnight. It is very good

One of my favorite breakfasts is to make a smoothie. You can base it on either juice, or yogurt, which is more filling, and add any fruits and berries that you like. Healthy and really yummy, if done right!

I love smoothies too, any idea how you can control the amount of sugar? I always find that the sugar levels are way over with smoothies... :)

Why not grill instead of fry. Poached eggs instaed of omelette ocasionally. Cold meats and bread instaed of cooked breakfast?

Grilling is good idea...though my grill is out of action right now...I was just worried about eating too many eggs as apparently it's bad to be eating so many a week... :)

Hi. Bellapop. On a cold winter morning, I would suggest that you eat some hot oatmeal and french toast. Some hot grits and hot cocoa would be great too.

I don't start my morning with eggs. It's normal for people around here to start our morning with something like rice or noodles. We don't just eat eggs, fried, boiled or whatever just like that (though some probably do) Does it have to be eggs? What about cereal?

I noticed my husband and my mother used to drink oats in the morning. Some yoghurt and bread too. My son enjoyed eating eggs - steam, boiled, fry etc. A good breakfast to begin our day is very important. A healthy meal is a healthy way of life!

I'm thinking about oats right now too. With yoghurt, all the nice ones always have too much sugar in... :)

You can always try having egg whites, and healthier versions of breakfast meats like turkey sausage or reduced fat bacon (or even canadian bacon). Another healthy breakfast option is oatmeal. You can also try frying with less oil and butter, or just using non stick spray instead.

For Good health, body need to have a health breakfast. It is said that you can skip a lunch or dinner but not a breakfast. My things for a nice healthy breakfast 1) Brown bread 2) Fresh Sweet lemon juice 3) Yes - Eggs, Sunny side up (for proteins) 4) A glass of milk 6) An apple Salads are good but you should have it as a substitute for lunch or dinner.

well dont eat breakfast typically I only eat during the early day if and when my body says its hungrey and if I happen to get hungry in the morning I'll eat some cereal juice and fruit light I dont eat heavy meals during the morning hours. But there are a lot of great breakfast foods out there for those who prefer to eat breakfast foods such as light soups or quick breakfast drinks but if you prefer somthing heaver and more filing you good try egg whites they come prepackaged and they taste pretty good and they have 0 to half the cholesterol of regular eggs you can also have them with turkey bacon its good and healthy.

You should mix it for each day like bacon with bread, cereal, and make sure to have a lot of gran in your breakfasts each day
